JonBenet Ramsey died in vain...

Exploitation! @ No less than child pornography. *Spit!*
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

the boys al vie for the coveted Michael Jackson trophy, which used to come with a free trip to Neverland--not sure now.

Sickening!!
CHILD welfare authorities in the United States are investigating a mother who appeared on national television injecting her eight-year-old daughter with the anti-wrinkle treatment Botox.
Trent Rhorer, executive director of the San Francisco Human Services Agency, said officials wanted to talk to Kerry Campbell and her daughter Britney.
''It's pretty unusual for a mum to be injecting an eight-year-old with Botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation,'' Mr Rhorer said on US television.
The mother and her daughter appeared on Good Morning America last week, Ms Campbell explaining how she injected Britney with Botox so she could compete in child beauty pageants. She said the treatment was used by other parents on the beauty pageant circuit.
''It's a tough world in the pageant world, I'm telling you,'' Ms Campbell said. ''The kids are harsh.''
A US-style children's beauty pageant planned for Melbourne in July is facing a groundswell of opposition from community groups.

And the mothers are...what????''The kids are harsh.''
Is it legal for an untrained, non-medical person to inject someone else with botox?
And again I ask, "Where are the dads?"

And her birth father has no say in this? Courts got his tongue? The Hen wrote:I believe in this case Ms Campbell is a single mother.
I don't care if my wife were raising my kid by herself (of course I wouldn't have that even if we were divorced/seperated) I would not allow this kind of abuse to my child.
And I am sure there are plenty of other traditional families (although "traditional" seems to be changing according to an article I read in sundays newspapaer) involved in this kiddie pornfest pageantry.

It may be that her birth father was never told he was a father.
Bah!

It's the children we're concerned about; source for boys pageants?
Re: JonBenet Ramsey died in vain...
Hmmm, let me be more specific;
Where's the boys pageants where they don't look like boys, but over-dressed, highly made-up, sexualized fantasy versions of stolen childhoods?

Re: JonBenet Ramsey died in vain...
Ummm, most men don't wear make-up so it doesn't equate that the boys would be overly made-up.
The whole point is dressing the little cherubs up as adults.

I'm not sure why it's relevant to the discussion, but I think this addresses yyour comment. There's been a couple of notable boy entries in the Toddlers and Tiaras series (I did a quick search).Where's the boys pageants where they don't look like boys, but over-dressed, highly made-up, sexualized fantasy versions of stolen childhoods?
Zanda is five and has been in over 60 pageants
http://thelaughingstork.com/2010/06/tod ... do-things/Zander gets a manicure, picks green nail polish. “Anything that pampers Zander, Zander likes,” his mom smiles. Kid’s got the right idea.
http://thestir.cafemom.com/entertainmen ... ap_pageantThis week we met the adorable Zander, who is as pageant-perfect as any girl. Nail polish, lip gloss and eyeliner were all part of the 5-year-old's regime, which is orchestrated by his quick-tempered mother.
Zander, who has done at least 60 pageants in his short life, says he doesn't like to lose because: "I don't like to lose because my mom might be sad".
and this is also about Zander...

And also on Toddlers and Tiara's, Hayden and Maverick's mum
http://tlc.discovery.com/videos/toddler ... s-mom.htmlthese are my girls that I never had so I'll just turn them into girls
Granted, there aren't as many boys entering, but those who have entered have mums just as whacked out as the mum's of the little girls who entered.
edited to clarify it a bit

Mum's with "issues" are more likely to dress up girls, than boys. it is the nature of the Mother.
I am sure we have all met horrendous Mother's at some point in our lives.
I have met some appearance dwelling mother's of school friends of the Hatch. It was a horrible waste of my time in acknowledging their presence.

Re: JonBenet Ramsey died in vain...
In the area I live there are a lot of teenage mums. There is a reasonably high proportion of them who, if they have girls, want to do all the dress up stuff with them - because they want the girls to become their 'bff' as well as mother/daughter.The Hen wrote:Mum's with "issues" are more likely to dress up girls, than boys. it is the nature of the Mother.

Although this sort of behaviour isn't just confined to teenage mums, of course - it's just that some of them make an easy example.

This seems worse than sports dads. But that's just my opinion.

I believe you meant vicariously, oldr - but, using 'precariously' is a quite insightful error, isn't it?oldr_n_wsr wrote:I hope mom puts a side a good chunk of the kids earnings for the therapy she's going to need.
People talk about fathers living precariously (sp?) through their sons athletic accomplishements.
And where is dad in all this?
vicarious: 2: performed or suffered by one person as a substitute for another or to the benefit or advantage of another : substitutionary <a vicarious sacrifice> 3: experienced or realized through imaginative or sympathetic participation in the experience of another <a vicarious thrill>
precarious: 1: depending on the will or pleasure of another
