Arsenil out - Tottenham in

Post by MajGenl.Meade »

A lovely week all in all. First Arse Whinger moaning about how Arse-nil wuz cheated by the evil referee. Rubbish. They lost to B-arse-lona not to the referee. Typical cheese eating surrender monkey stuff - "We just didn't know Uncle Adolf could be so mean".

Then last night Spurs ground out a tough 0-0 draw with AC (All Choke) Milan to reach the quarter-finals. Let's hope we end up playing Sporting Jockstrap of Bratislava or someone of that ilk.

Just below that in significance was Englands famous 6 run victory over South Africa. And the thrashing Ireland got from Rwanda - or was it Libya - Dubya? Someone anyway. Australia don't seem to have played a game for the past month and the competition's only two weeks old.?

What else? Bloem Celtic managed a "victory" of sorts by retaining their unbeaten home record in the PSL with a 1-1 draw to Orlando Pirates (Soweto, not Florida). We got caught up in the after match traffic jam on Mshweshwe for about 45 minutes, inching along and exchanging pleasantries with the fans blocking the pavement, the street, the median, and whatever is normally unblocked. The four girls in the back of the bakkie were hanging out of the windows and no doubt saying (and hearing) some very dubious things in Sotho, knowing that we couldn't understand.

Can't forget that Man Utd lost 2x recently which, absent the news that Chelsea has been sold to the Antarctic, is very encouraging - except that the Arsenil might win the League which is a real bummer. Isn't there some way that Man City can do it?

There is a banner on the Stretford End at Old Trafford which reads "35 Years". This is the number of years since City won a trophy and is updated every year. I have every confidence that this time next year it will read "36 years". :D

Oh and Utd have lost three of their last five league games... just to keep it interesting for another few weeks. It does mean that their game against Arse in a few weeks time should be a belter!

Was a great match last night Meade! I'm not a Spurs fan but I was pleased for Harry and the boys.

Sean give Man Citya couple of years more and they WILL be winning trophies. Would be nice to see that counter set back to zero ;)

You have team competitions in Wanking?

AND I THOUGHT I COULD NEVER BECOME A PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE!

Here, we just call them, "circle jerks," and don't keep score.

My limited translation ability of pidgin english sports. Arsenal is the rough equivalent of the New York Yankees in the English Premier League. They got hammered by Barcelona in the Champions Cup. This is the playoff for top European soccer clubs.
Then last night Spurs ground out a tough 0-0 draw with AC (All Choke) Milan to reach the quarter-finals. Let's hope we end up playing Sporting Jockstrap of Bratislava or someone of that ilk.
Tottenham Hotspurs did well to tie AC Milan and is till in the Cup, unlike the hated Arsenic.

Now we're talking some cricket, world cup lead in action or something. Let me go download some Leonard Cohen so I can really enjoy this as it is meant to be enjoyed, along with a big glass of hemlock juice.

Apparently they have traffic in RSA. And sports, but then we knew that.

Apparently, folks hate the successful Manchester United and are happy they have lost two in a row. However, this means that Arsenal (though out in the Champions Cup) are still the favorite, excuse me, the favourite, to win the English Premier League. Manchester City, the crosstown rival of ManU is the sentimental pick, but probably doesn't have the firepower to beat Arsenal. I don't know what happened to Chelsea, but I think that they must have sold off some talent to some teams in the north.

And then there was March Madness.

Not so sure about that Dais. It takes more than a barrowful of money. At the moment they are just bringing in expensive players (half of who probably think they are signing for Utd...) with no regard to creating a team let alone a squad.

And this just in (carrier pigeons across the Atlantic), Barthalona beats ManU in the Champions Cup. Yankee-haters should be happy for their European counterparts.

In other breaking news Paul Scholes announced yesterday that he is retiring with immediate effect. Bookies have now made United odds-on favourites to win the Fair Play League.
