Prime Rib For The Doggy....
Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
Oh what the heck, I've got time to kill.
loca, kindly point out (i.e. quote the words he used) precisely where Jim has demonstrated a lack of respect for the dignity, loyalty and devotion of dogs.
(this should be good)

Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
You posted something extremely silly. You are now trying to justify your stupid remark.
I understand that Lo.
The dogs were not commanding any respect from anyone and weren't narcing on anyone either.
Peace be with you.
BTW, admitting you got something wrong would prove you to be a bigger person than the one you are trying to be by justifying all your silly and outrageously wrong statements.
Regards

Even the mere possibility that she got something wrong would suggest that she is smaller than she is.
Reason is valuable only when it performs against the wordless physical background of the universe.
Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
'You' was generalized, Jim just posted the article, and I believe the dog was doing a fine enough job that the cops, particularly Russian cops, weren't necessary. He [the dog] didn't need to be narced on to over-authoritarian, corrupt police .
Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
WTF??????You don't respect that dignity, loyalty, and devotion; what can I say
I don't "respect that dignity, loyalty, and devotion" of dogs?
Where did that come from?
I should have thought that it was obvious that my regard for their "dignity, loyalty, and devotion" is what led me to start this thread in the first place...
I am truly puzzled and bewildered by that comment...
But my recognition and appreciation of these qualities would not lead me to the bizarre conclusion that a dog, no matter how well intended he may be, would an acceptable choice to babysit an infant overnight in a public park....
Do you think that would be appropriate?
Do you really believe that dogs have the skill set that qualify them for that task?
If so, that may very well qualify as the weirdest, strangest, most bizarre belief I've seen expressed on these boards...(and that's really saying something, 'cause I've seen some doozies)
I want to make sure I'm getting correctly what you seem to be saying here...(it's so surreal I'm having a lot of trouble processing the idea that someone could actually be saying this)
Do you believe that it's totally appropriate to leave a small child in the care of a dog?
And that anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't respect their ""dignity, loyalty, and devotion" ?
If so, I have to say you have some very...uhh...how shall I put this diplomatically....original ideas about the capabilities of dogs, and the needs of small children....
If I was going to be undiplomatic, I would say that was just plain

Did you miss my last post Jim?
Overall, I respect your opinion highly. After all you have how many dogs again?

Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
LMAO - I doubt that your last post will make Jim want to change a word of his...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

What??
Should the dog have been narced on to corrupt Russian police then? When he doing a better job, than the babe's mother?

This is too funny.

Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
So you have no answer then, because of course no one suggested any such thing.

Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
We have three little pooches, LoCa, and we love them dearly, and they're fiercely loyal and protective...After all you have how many dogs again?
But we wouldn't leave Jimmy at home thinking, "it's okay, Foxy, Domino and Lucky can take care of him"....
Let alone over night in a public park....
I understand that you may have to worry about some things about the police in Russia that we don't really have to here... like maybe the remote but real possibility that instead of taking the baby to child services and trying to find the parents, the possibility exists that they might keep the kid and try to sell it on the black market to a childless couple....(though given the mother's behavior in this case, it could be argued that even that could be an improvement for the kid)
But that having been said, to conclude, "it's better to leave the kid overnight in a public park with a dog watching him than to call the authorities"....(not knowing what could happen during that time, and when...if ever...the parents would return)
I have to say that seems like a really odd call to me....even if you're in Russia....

Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
So, in your view, if you're in Russia, and you see a child in a baby carriage in a public park with no adults with it, (and you have no idea when if ever an adult will show up take care of the baby) so long as there's a dog there, the better choice would be to let the baby stay there alone overnight with the dog, (and presumably longer if necessary) than to call the authorities....But that's what happened. I'm not sorry, i support the dog.
Okey Dokey....
I have to say you and I are not on the same planet on this LoCa....
In fact we're not even in the same quadrant of the galaxy....

Who was the dog commanding respect from in order to not notify the corrupt Russian Police that the baby had been abandoned by its drunken mother?
As to whether the authorities should have been informed that there was an abandoned baby in a park being guarded by a dog?
Yes. A human being should have been able to intervene to calm the distressed baby and find it's parents as soon as someone was aware that there was a baby in the pram.
Bah!

Re: Prime Rib For The Doggy....
Perhaps she is confusing this with the story of Romulus and Remus and thinks that the dog would be able to feed and diaper the baby all by itself.
