My first night back at work

Post by Aard Vark »

I have had my first night at work. Nothing exciting in that you say?

I work for Brisbane Goast Tours

We take people for a walk around the Ipswitch cemetery, talking about the graves, the people under them and the goasts that are related to them. I love it I have learnt so much local history and some great yarns. It is said there are more than a few goasts in the cemetry (didn't see any tonight) and you do get a feeling of something strang in places. The Boss Jack Sim was there to help us out on out first night and he just knows so much and can tell a story.

If you ever come out this way I would recomend taking one of these tours. I have been on a couple of tours in Brisbane. I hope I can achieve the same professional performance as the other tour guids give. Thankfully I am only the assistant but it is all show and I am part of it.

On the tour the Host starts talking about how people have heard the sounds of boots walking behind them on the gravel path way. While she is talking I stand just behind the crowd and grind my boots on the path. I was great to watch them jump.

Well I just wanted to tell you all about it.

A bit of Trivia.. Did you know that Brisbane is the most haunted city in the world?

Speaking of Brisbane, I spent most of today in Brisbane at a party in a park.

Brisbane, California, that is.... (just south of San Francisco)

Pronounced "Briz-bAne" over in these parts.

It's kinda haunted over there also.

Ghosts from Oklahoma and other southern states seem to have found their way to a town that was known mostly for its whore houses in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

So if you thought Goast was Goats I think it means you have a reading comprehension issue.

Spoken like someone who has never seen a goat in a cemetery.

[aside]My husband is terrified of goats. You know how they have goats in a petting pen for kids to go in and then they have these quarter operated goat food dispensers? You know how the goats have that all figured out and will climb on you to get to the feed eating it out of the dispenser as you turn the crank? My husband will not go into those pens in spite of the fact that there are toddlers running around among the goats. Once we were driving out in the country and a goat chased our car, like a dog would. It reinforced his terror of these creatures. A ghost goat would be his complete undoing.[/aside]

Now that was clever!

Mind you, you have some time left to edit that small typo.

Sister Mary and I keep meaning to do that tour one night Aardy... when we can get a babysitter that is.

Mates rates I presume... ;)
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Sean I would love to take you around. I hope to do a better job than last night, it went well just need to learn the script and have it down pat.

Goats can be scary we had two here for several months. Waking up to the sound of goats going through the kitchen at half 5 will put the willies up anyone.

Goats in the kitchen...that would lend one to asking how the goats got into the kitch I suppose, the time might or might not be relevant.

My cousin had a goat once. It liked beer and oreo cookies. When it got drunk it would sometimes jump on a car hood and, seeing it's reflection in the wind shield, it would get excited and jump around. We had to fix more car hoods from that damn goat. Also the goat slept in an old chicken coop. When it was drunk it tried to climb on the chicken roosts and sleep. Kept falling off.
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.

Petting zoos are scary places.

E. Coli on the hoof...
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is

@meric@nwom@n It gets very cold here -4 (not cold for some) so we leave the back door open for the dogs to come in and stay warm. We need them to come in and out as they are ment to chase foxes away from the chooks.
The goats just watched the dogs and followed them in.

We never had them on the cars but finding one on the table eating the flowers isn't the most impressive thing at 5am.

The record of most haunted city was given to Brisbane by the Guines Book of records. I didn't know about 90% of the ghoasts of my home town. Even the old City Hall is haunted by at least two ghoasts.

Impressive. I am surprised it beat a number of European cities. Are we sure this isn't just a great big joke started by Brissie-dwellers that even the Guinness Book of Records has fallen for? :D?
Bah!

Aard Vark I think you must have a most interesting life. In any case, if goats in the kitchen at 5 am is objectionable, perhaps you could train your dogs to keep them out?

I didn't know about the numbers of hauntings in Bris. In a four block area there are 10 haunted buildings and a park.

Or
Toowong Cemetary officially opened in 1875. One hundred and thirty-two years later it is the largest cemetery in Queensland . Covering almost 250 acres, it is the burial place of 120,000 souls - some famous, some infamous. Spread over the hills and steep slopes are tens of thousands of gravestones, tombs & crypts.

The cemetery is a true necropolis - literally a city of the dead.

Now locked to the public at night to prevent vandalism it is even more isolated and empty than before. Empty, save the dead...

On this Ghost Tour you will hear real ghost stories and visit real haunted graves.

Let Sir Samuel or Madam Lily show you around their home.
This cemetary is only 10 min from the city center Witch does help put the number of ghoasts up.
