You can even download the first chapter for free . . . . ;)

Well done, Gob! Although to be honest, I saw the ending coming a mile away. If you don't mind constructive criticism, I think you gave away too much in the first paragraphs. If you weave some of those facts into the story a bit later, the ending will have more punch!

Guin, check out the offerings from M-Edge for Kindle - at Amazon and elsewhere online. They have a number of really lovely covers that integrate their booklight, which is very nice as well. The covers allow you to hold the Kindle more like a regular book (I've got one like that), or they have others that stand, so you can read hands-free.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. I found it to be really great to have along on vacation!

Thanks BSG -- I ordered an Eco-Vue leather case that has a pocket which should fit the small LED flexible light I ordered. Both should be here next week. In the meantime, I keep on acquiring books . . . .

I don't mind it at all thanks, and that's exactly the sort of critique I welcome.

Though I'm half torn between attempting a full novel, and not bothering at all.
