... I need to do a short lesson in español, here. A quicky translation of 'wot', seems to be 'que', as the Spanish language does use 'que' when asking 'what?'
However, a native speaker will use the word 'cómo' as an interjection, in this context.
Cómo usually means 'how', as in:
¿Cómo estas? <How are you?>
¿Cómo se dice...? <How do you say ...?>

You shorten it to just ¿Cómo? if you didn't hear someone; or you're confused or surprised. It's like exclaiming, 'Huh?'

¡Cómo!, ¿que pasa? <Huh!? What happened?>

Which is more what, LOL WOT is expressing.

We still use LOL though, not trans for that.

Nope, he's was a fictional Spaniard(written by Brits) while I'm a real Mexican. Mexicans don't speak Castilian - the Spanish that is spoken in Spain. We speak Español mexicano. The cartoon depicts a Mexican pear, note the traditional sombrero and mustache worn by mestizos, and not by the conquistador Spaniards, therefore it also would not speak Castilian.

The irony was that it was a saying popularized by a Spanish waiter with poor English, who also obviously had poor Spanish as well. And actually only one of the writers was British, the other was American.

It is only incidentally ironic that you missed that.

It has nothing to do with that Mexican pear. I was TRYING to educate you as to where the phrase gained popularity in Western society, but obviously I didn't explain simply enough when I said ....
