It doesn't sound so much an Emily Post thing as a criticism of douching as unnecessary, and potentially harmful.
I don't claim the knowledge to know whether that's true or not (neither owning nor being particularly interested in vaginas), but if it is true, it's certainly a legitimate criticism of any ad of a douching product.
I don't see the "empowerment" message myself. What I get is that women need to keep their vajayjays smelling fresh in order to attract a man. But it's cleverly done nonetheless.
