You're right Dales. I've moved my post to here.

Mind you, I think this particular topic derailed some time ago... ;)

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

What does this have to do with the original topic?

Derailed again?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Totally, from 'attention seeking' to 'attention forcing'.

Yup.

Let's get back onto the topic which was Tibet, human rights and whether the Tibetans will ever receive the open support from a foreign government in defiance of China.

Ok, I'll start; "Yay! Spirituality!"
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

I wonder if this was really the best point in time for Obama to piss off the Chinese?
Barack Obama More Venturous Than Putin and Medvedev

The meeting has taken place despite the Chinese side stern objections.

The US president has been talking to the exiled Tibetan leader for 45 minutes. Obama has informed the Dalai Lama of his “strong determination” to defend human rights in Tibet.

Beijing made the statement, saying that the Obama-Dalai Lama meeting had seriously damaged relations between the two countries.

It’s not the first meeting of the US president with the Dalai Lama. The previous one took place in February 2010 and also caused outrage in the Chinese authorities.

Let us recall that Beijing accuses the exiled Dalai Lama living in India of his striving to achieve separation of Tibet from the PRC. In 1950 Tibet got under control of China after the military victory near Chamdo. In subsequent years native inhabitants of Tibet suffered from genocide acts.

In 1992 the Amnesty International human rights organization called Tibet a “torture lab of the PRC penitentiary system”. Serious concern is caused by keeping hundreds of monks and nuns in prison.

Since 1991 none of the Russian leaders have dared to meet with the Dalai Lama for fear of triggering conflict with the People’s Republic of China.

Fuck 'em. They need us more than we need them.

The whole world can make cheap crap as well as they can.

And all US presidents for decades have met with the Dalai Lama.
