Police in New Zealand are searching for a Botox bandit.
The woman completed a client consent form and had a "before-treatment" photograph taken before allegedly fleeing a Christchurch clinic with $NZ780 ($620) worth of Botox treatment.
Senior Constable Helen Mahon-Stroud, of the Papanui police, said the woman had provided personal information, including a false name, address and phone number. The woman agreed to have her photograph taken before the treatment on July 28.
"They photographed her face up close and then she had the Botox treatment," Mahon-Stroud said. "Afterwards she went out to the desk and told staff her wallet was in the car. She went out the door and was last seen running off down the road."
A clinic spokeswoman said the woman had had a 30-minute consultation. She was told what the procedure would involve and its cost.
She had had work done in two areas of her face: her frown line and crow's feet.
"It beggars belief that someone could do a runner after getting a photo like that. The stupidity of doing it ... we have about six photographs of her on the day," Senior Constable Mahon-Stroud said.
"It's probably not the first time in Christchurch and certainly not the first time in New Zealand. Once you put something in someone's face it's hard to get it back."
Police visited the address the woman provided, but she did not live there.
