Re: U.S. Driving Issues
I use CC on every long distance drive, and is perfectly easy to control the speed using the CC system to go faster or slower as needed. Less wear and tear on brakes, and the gas mileage I get in my Jeep is as good as what I used to get in my Volvo (or even better).

Re: U.S. Driving Issues
On most U.S. cruise control systems, the driver can accelerate with a designated button (often in 1-mph increments by "tapping"it), and decelerate by holding the "set" or "coast" button. The new speed will become the new set speed. Touching the brake or clutch disengages the system, but not the throttle.
Note we have the Interstate Highway System that makes cruise control quite useful, except in heavily populated areas where the traffic is congested.

Re: U.S. Driving Issues
On my 4Runner, you can bump up or down on the CC stalk in 1mph increments. I use it all the time for highway driving, bump up 4 or 5 times to pass and back down to change back.

Re: U.S. Driving Issues
Yep, same on ours, but I don't think it's safe for overtaking, or when there are idiots about, and always go over to throttle control.

Citroen is one of the strangest car companies, ever. The Hen wrote:What about one that looks like a pig?Jarlaxle wrote:Only in a car that handles like a pig!
They produce the "Traction Avant" one of the most beautiful cars of all time and then ... very very odd things like this.

If you're going so slowly on the straights that this makes sense then you really don't know what handling is, or why anyone cares about it.Jarlaxle wrote:Only in a car that handles like a pig! I take S-curves with CC set regularly.

Yes, I admit I "only" go about 65MPH through that area. Goddamn, you're a fucking moron.rubato wrote:If you're going so slowly on the straights that this makes sense then you really don't know what handling is, or why anyone cares about it.Jarlaxle wrote:Only in a car that handles like a pig! But, I'm a moron who knows that cars go faster on the straights than in curves, drives like he understands this and discusses driving in a way which reflects this knowledge. Rather an improvement on your condition.Jarlaxle wrote:Yes, I admit I "only" go about 65MPH through that area. And I'm not such a hate-filled little loser that I made an illogical comment to try to insult someone and then made myself look like a jackass trying to defend it because I was too weak to just admit the original error.
Re: U.S. Driving Issues
Yes, I could go faster than 65 on a straight section of road...I could take that curve faster than I do; I suspect my Caddy would be fine going through it at 80+. I don't in that area, because I do not want a massive ticket. What my car is capable of is vastly more than what is LEGAL, you twit. I suppose I COULD, theoretically, run 100+ on the straight sections (my Caddy is rock-steady & still pulling hard at 120)...but, of course, I don't.
