Well I'm sorry he missed out on his next career as "defendant". I was hoping he would out-do Saddam Hussein in the egomaniac lunatic department.

Sky news is reporting that he died of 'wounds sustained in capture'.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

CNN is running a photo that looks like Khaddafy badly wounded...and also reporting that he died from wounds received during the fight after being taken prisoner....

There's supposed to be some sort of announcement soon...

If this is true it's unfortunate; this looks like a "Martyr's" death...

It would have been better if the new Libyan government had been able to air his crimes in a fair trial....

Followed by a fair hanging.....

I don't think so Jim with the reports on the latest killed an captured it just might be enough to kill the resistance and end the killing. A Captured Kadaffy would use every possilbe chance to stoke the embers of his supporters.

That's possible too CP...We'll just have to see...

I've been under the impression that the folks who were still fighting for Khaddfy at this point were likely doing so because they felt that they had no choice; that their own crimes were such that they figured they might as well fight to the bitter end.

The Transitional government may want to consider some sort of amnesty, (not of course for the highest ranking war criminals) if it wants to bring a swift end to the fighting. (As well as making sure that all tribes are represented in the transitional government)

It'll also be interesting to see how much longer Saif holds out now that the old man is dead...he's believed to still be in Libya (He played a central role in the atrocities carried out as his father cracked down and struggled to hold on to power; there should certainly be no amnesty for him....and there are some others who succeeded in fleeing that should be extradited to stand trial for their crimes)

1980s sitcom predicts Gaddafi's death

"Ah, Colonel Gaddafi," St. Peter says to a laugh track in 1987. "Dead at last!"

This is a scene from the 1980s sitcom "Second Chance" which, incidentally, stars a young Matthew Perry. It was first found by BuzzFeed. The scene takes place in St. Peter's "office" in the year — wait for it — 2011.

Perhaps David W. Duclon and Gary Menteer, the short-lved show's creators, have a potential second career as prophets, or perhaps oracles, or maybe fortune tellers.
