Yes, I'm following it, in a desultory way. Dutifully rooting for the Cards, since they kicked my Phaltering Phils in the ass. We get an incredible 102 wins and then can't get past the wild card pick. At least I can thank God that I'm not a Yankees fan.

I am following it, but not watching the games completely. I really don't care which team wins; I have small reasons to root for both of them.

I wish they could figure out a way to avoid having these games played in 40-degree, rainy weather. It makes me cold just looking at them. Pity to think that the most important games of the year are being played in these conditions.

Although "America" will not bless this WS with very good TV ratings, "America" is grateful that the Yankees and Braves are now in hibernation. How the hell did the Phillies manage not to win the NL with their lineup?

I know, right? Arguably the best pitching rotation in, like, ever, and some pretty solid bats. Best record in baseball. Crumble in the post-season. Aaaaarrrrrggghhh.

I'll put it this way....

I'm paying about as much attention to this World Series as I did to the Rugby World Cup.....

Half heartedly rootin for the Rangers even though they beat my Tigers (actually they beat themselves).

Everyone around here is a Cards fan and most of them are rabid...

Which was depressingly early this year. :(

They need to do whatever it takes, and I mean WHATEVER IT TAKES, up to & including non-tendering Papi, to sign C. C. Sabathia.

For those who care about such things, Mr. Pujols (who will be a free agent next week) had the best offensive game EVER a few days ago. Three home runs, five hits, six RBI.

BUT...

If the Cardinals lose the series it will all be for naught, and

The team would have won even if he had gone 0-5. They won by 11 runs.

I don't consider hitting three homers in the world series "for naught".

For Pujols, a Game for the Ages

For more than three decades, Reggie Jackson had been the only man alive to hit three home runs in a World Series game. Babe Ruth had done it before him, twice, but since Jackson’s magical night in 1977, nobody living could relate.

Then, as Jackson listened on the radio in California on Saturday night, he had company. Albert Pujols put his name beside Ruth’s and Jackson’s with a performance for the ages, destined to be etched in bronze on a plaque in Cooperstown.

Do or die for the Cards tonight. Any predicitions? (I'm not making any, since I never believed either team could possibly get this far.)

I fearlessly predict that the Cards will win game 6 in eleven innings. A game for the ages. Three (3) blown saves by Texas pitchers!

As for tonight, I think the Rangers have a fresher pitcher, for what that's worth. I'm going with them.

By my count, the Rangers lost the 2011 World Series for the fourth time last night. They lost it three times on Wednesday.

Much as I wanted them to win, they deserved to lose.

Let's hear it for the Freese kid - great story!
