My dad used to wear Red Wing - they were the only company that would accomodate his weird feet (very wide and very flat). Mom and he would go down to the factory once a year and he'd buy two pairs of work shoes. However, the quality of RW shoes has declined. They're still better than a lot of work shoes, but the quality isn't there like it used to be.
I wonder if that has anything to do with them being outsourced
Most Red Wing boots are still US-made. Although, the imported ones (the WORX line) seem to be made just as well.

No they are not. (tho the steel toes in them are)

Last time I was in their store I was hard pressed to find a pair actually made in the US

Much like Dr. Martens and the UK
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I was at a Red Wing store recently...more than half the boots were US-made. Only the WORX line was from China. Mine are US-made.

I LOVE Dr Marten's Kicking Boots.

I almost bought a pair last time I was there.

These ones in fact ...

I never wear flat shoes even my thongs ( or flip flops I know how pervy minds get here) have a heel....just the way I am. Call me shallow or vain I don't care.

Stiletto or a wedge and I am a happy girl.

i have around 60 pairs or shoes and 6 pairs of boots. I understand that "ugleeee shoes" are the thing for some folks...for me comfort is a pair of heels. The only time I wore flats was when I was pregnant and i was pissed off. In fact the day I delivered I walked in to the hospital ( much to hubbys disgust) wearing 4 inch knee high black leather boots. I only had to waddle 300 metres and I was wearing them on discharge hell or high waters.....nature had other plans it seems....

The only thing I could wear on discharge were Ugg boots...due to the excess fluid which apparently collects in your ankles and feet and makes the fuckers swell so you look like you have muppet feet!! I did ask the nurse to drain them the day before discharge she just pissed herself laughing!!

These are muppet feet!

I wouldn't know you to know if that were the case. It doesn't appear to be the case. I would not automatically assume that to be the case with a woman who likes high heels, I would be more apt to assume she comes from another planet, perhaps one with lower gravity. I have known other woemn who prefer heels. I have to say they do look snazzy but I consider them torture. To each her own, eh?
