You know what really bothers me?

Not having Andy Rooney around to tell me what really bothers him.

GoodBye Andy.

Andy Rooney, wry '60 Minutes' commentator, dies
By DAVID BAUDER - AP Television Writer | AP – 1 hr 53 mins ago

NEW YORK (AP) — Andy Rooney so dreaded the day he had to end his signature "60 Minutes" commentaries about life's large and small absurdities that he kept going until he was 92 years old.

Even then, he said he wasn't retiring. Writers never retire. But his life after the end of "A Few Minutes With Andy Rooney" was short: He died Friday night, according to CBS, only a month after delivering his 1,097th and final televised commentary.

What someone has done recently is so much more vivid in memory that you forget everything that went before. Its easy to think of him solely as the 5-minute curmudgeon at the end of 60 minutes. But he started doing that at an age when most people are retiring. Andy is maybe the last of the great WWII journalists.

They don't have journalists of this calibre any more.

I find myself becoming curmudgeonly because of it.

RIP Andy.

I knew you not, but I know of your kind, and I weep for us all at your passing.
Bah!

Let that be a lesson;

Never retire...

Don't die...

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

It's been a number of years since I watched 60 minutes faithfully, but it was religion in my house growing up and Andy Rooney part of my life since early childhood. He was my favorite curmudgeon.

RIP, Mr. Rooney.
