Oh boy! Could be a great summer of cricket. Shame we'll be in winter in England for most of it. Especially with India being on tour here.Out of a clear blue sky, lightning struck Newlands today, twice in the same place. It left the cricket world shocked. In fewer than four bewildering hours of a game barely recognisable as Test cricket, Australia bowled out South Africa for 96, then itself was bowled out in an hour-and-a-half for 47. More than half of those were made by last-wicket pair Peter Siddle and Nathan Lyon.
Impossibly, Australia was 9/21, and only when Siddle edged a boundary did Australia avoid the unspeakable ignominy of making Test cricket's lowest score, by anyone, ever. That 26 remains New Zealand's pride. Another clip from Siddle saved Australia from its own lowest score, 36, made against England in 1902. Its 47 remains its lowest score for more than 100 years.

Highlights (or lowlights) of the Test so far:
- For only the second time in history, parts of all four innings were played on the same day.
- Australia's second-innings total of 47 was the lowest for Australia in 109 years and fourth worst in Australian Test history.
- Australia were 9-21 when the 10th wicket pairing of Nathan Lyon and Peter Siddle came together in the second dig. They narrowly avoided the all-time low of 26 set by New Zealand against England in 1955, and the worst for Australia which was 36 against England in 1902.
- 23 wickets fell, the most in a single day since 1902 and the fourth greatest number in history, with 27 the record.
- In between the resumption of play after lunch and the end of Australia's second dig, one wicket had fallen approximately every nine minutes. In those 3½ hours, 19 batsmen were wiped out for 94 runs.
- Following Graeme Smith's first innings 37 in opening the batting, 17 consecutive batsmen were out in single figures, before Peter Siddle's 12 and Nathan Lyon's 14 at the end of the Australian second dig.
- There were nine decision referral system calls on day two. Four were upheld and five struck down.
- Shane Watson's second innings 5-17 was the second fastest five-wicket haul claimed from the start of a spell.
- South African Vernon Philander took five second innings wickets on debut.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.
