Re: Questions for the candidates

It would help Lord Jim to learn what an air force is, before he comments on one. Irans air force is indeed smaller than israels, but the air superiority fighters are newer. Much newer. Israel only flies the F15 and F16. Iran flies the French Mirage and F14 - both an equal match for Israel, but they also have the Mig29 upgraded to S models by the russians.

and since, as Lord Jim is unware, they dont win airfights by crashing them into each other he might note that the aircraft fire the same cannon and the SAME missles air to air and air to ground.

Israel, by all projections could establish air superiority over Iran, IF they get permission to fly over Iraq, syria, jordan and syria - all of which have denied it, possess yet again the same aircraft and missles as well as SAMs. (and this does not speak of the weakening they will incur, leaving them open to egyptian attack)

Egyptian, syrian, and Jordanese tanks will be at tel aviv before the aircraft hit the first tank going thru turkey. Oh wait, turkey said they will shoot down any israeli planes as well....leaving only a narrow corridor thru saudi, if they get thru jordan.

As I said in one of my earlier posts, 90% of the wargames start with this scenario and the Israeli-Irani attack is considered one of the top 6 credible scenarios to start WW3 with nukes. Left we forget that Moscow has agreed to attack israel if they launch a nuke

In short, americans are glad that Lord Jim, master of all truths (aint all ad execs?) is not in charge of defense.

2 considerations:

Israel has AWACS, Iran don't.

Israel now has inflight refueling, Iran don't need as long as they remain in their air space.

Just saying...
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is

True Keld, but, turkey has suspended all military agreements with Israel in sept of this year eliminating that route. S.A only agreed to the air corridor for fighter jets.

And while yes, Iran is currently out of AWACs aircraft, russia is selling them 3-5 of them. So the strike better occur before Xmas ;-)

I have been unable to see where a trade like this has been set up.

Could you point me in that direction?
