Doing my bit for the US economy!

Post by Gob »

I hardly ever wear shoes these days, I've worn sandals for the last 20+ years.

When I arrived in Aus, I found the wonderful "Keen's Newport" hiking sandals, I now wear them for just about everything. (I even wear socks with them for formal wear, much to Hatch's disgust.)

So the best price I can get them for in Aus is $170.00 Au + postage

From the US via e-bay?

I’m looking at $100 Au including postage. :D

Got me a pair, too (the company is headquartered in our nice city). I'll also throw a penalty flag on wearing socks with these sandals.

Can you get them cheap L-R? I'll pay for them, plus postage and throw in some marmite for you if you can get me a good deal.

You might get a better response from our uninitiated friends with the above edit mate...

I went ahead and called.

Shipped surface, 8-12 weeks, it would be about $100.

UPS, around 14 days +/-, about $120.

She said they hope to have the site up shortly, hope the link I posted didn't screw them up.

Odd that it still won't let me edit that particular post...

There is an attorney here who wears those sandals, with socks, with suit, in Court.

Another wears Tevas, with socks, with suit, in Court.

Given the recommendation, I'll have to get a pair - but NOT for Court, lol!

A kind person at PlanB is checking out their factory shop for me!!

Oh, it's working BTW.
US retail sales rose again in October, offering further signs of hope to the country's economy.

Sales were up by 0.5% over the previous month, beating economists' forecasts, and following a 1.1% rise the previous month.

US Department of Commerce figures showed sales rose in a number of sectors, including motor vehicles, electrical goods and groceries.

It was the fifth straight month that sales had increased.

The data is closely watched because consumer spending accounts for 70% of US economic activity.

I also like to wear sandals, whenever weather permits...and shorts as well...(and for me , "weather permits" is a pretty low bar...the low 60s if it's sunny is good enough for me)

But I've told Tati and Kelly that if they ever catch me walking out the door wearing socks with sandals, they can take me immediately to the nearest Home.....
