I believe it is best to let one's conversations with GOD, be a private affair, paritularly in politics. This man is a fool using the All Mighty in a political campaign. He should be ashamed of himself.
Cain says God persuaded him to run for president
.
By RAY HENRY
The Associated Press
ATLANTA — Republican Herman Cain said God convinced him to enter the race for president, comparing himself to Moses: "'You've got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?'"
.
The Georgia business executive played up his faith Saturday after battling sexual harassment allegations for two weeks, trying to shift the conversation to religion, an issue vital to conservative Republicans, especially in the South.
In a speech Saturday to a national meeting of young Republicans, Cain said the Lord persuaded him after much prayer.
"That's when I prayed and prayed and prayed. I'm a man of faith — I had to do a lot of praying for this one, more praying than I've ever done before in my life," Cain said. "And when I finally realized that it was God saying that this is what I needed to do, I was like Moses. 'You've got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?'"
Once he made the decision, Cain said, he did not look back.
Four women have now accused Cain of sexually harassing them when he led the National Restaurant Association more than a decade ago. Cain, who has denied wrongdoing, was silent about the allegations and did not take reporters' questions.
Cain isn't the first to say God prodded him toward a campaign. Texas Gov. Rick Perry's wife, Anita, has said she felt God was speaking to her about the race, adding that her husband needed to see a "burning bush," a Biblical reference to God's first appearance to Moses.
During his speech, Cain also criticized President Barack Obama for canceling the space shuttle program — a decision actually made by President George W. Bush — as NASA shifts its focus on travel farther from Earth's orbit.
"I can tell you that as president of the United States, we are not going to bum a ride to outer space with Russia," Cain said to loud applause. "We're going to regain our rightful place in terms of technology, space technology."
Cain was talking about U.S. plans, now that the space shuttle is retired, to use Russian rockets to send astronauts to the International Space Station. In the meantime, NASA is focused on explorations deeper in space.
It was Bush who decided in 2004 to retire the space shuttle program. The Republican president still supported sending astronauts to the moon and Mars.
Obama, once in office, dropped the goal of a moon mission. Instead, NASA has plans to build a giant rocket capable of sending astronauts to an asteroid and eventually Mars. It wants to outsource to private companies the task of ferrying astronauts and cargo to the space station — a job previously performed by the space shuttle.
Until private companies are ready, NASA will keep buying seats on Russian Soyuz capsules to get astronauts to the space station. The cost per person to fly on a Soyuz is expected to rise from $56 million to $63 million, which is still cheaper than flying on the shuttle.
Cain spoke in advance of a Republican debate Saturday in South Carolina focused on foreign policy.

Isn't insanity an exclusion category for presidents?

No news there.During his speech, Cain also criticized President Barack Obama for canceling the space shuttle program — a decision actually made by President George W. Bush ....
When do we get the supposed quotes from Al Gore that were actually uttered by Dan Quayle?
Reason is valuable only when it performs against the wordless physical background of the universe.

Why doesn't Obama reverse that decision?Andrew D wrote:No news there.During his speech, Cain also criticized President Barack Obama for canceling the space shuttle program — a decision actually made by President George W. Bush ....

Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Maybe as he's not so stupid as to do so. Maybe he's aware that the USA is skint and not being able to afford to throw $$$$$ at it?
Would Cain reverse it?

Well what a surprise! The former boyfriend of a woman who accuses Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain of groping her has corroborated her story.
Speaking at a news conference, Victor Zuckerman said Sharon Bialek told him Mr Cain made an unwanted advance shortly after it allegedly happened.
Mr Cain's lawyer said there was nothing new in the claim, which he denies.
Meanwhile, Gloria Cain, the candidate's wife, is appearing US television to defend her husband.
Recent opinion polls suggest the allegations could be taking their toll - former House Speaker Newt Gingrich overtook Mr Cain in one national survey released on Monday.
A CNN poll also released on Monday found Mr Cain slipping to third place behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Mr Gingrich.

Herman Cain met with Henry Kissinger to discuss foreign policy a couple of days ago...
No, that's not the opening line to a joke...(though I know it sounds like one)
It really happened....
In fact, he even asked Kissinger to be his Secretary of State....(no, that's not a joke either...that also really happened...)
Dr. Kissinger politely declined the offer...
After he recovered from hyperventilating from an uncontrollable fit of hysterical laughter...
(Okay, that last one was a joke...)
I have to say, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation...
Henry Kissinger discussing foreign policy with Herman Cain....
That would be like Robert Oppenheimer having a discussion about nuclear physics with Sponge Bob Square Pants....

Pathetic, and this man believes he is presidentail material?Herman Cain: ‘How Do You Say Delicious In Cuban?’
by Alex Alvarez | 9:22 pm, November 16th, 2011
Today, Herman Cain (Perhaps you’ve heard of him?) paid a visit to Versailles, a relatively important landmark in Miami, particularly for EL EXILIO™, the exiled Cuban community to whom politicians often cater and/or pander during election season. It serves awesome vaca frita (as long as you make sure to specify that you want it served extra crispy), flaky and sweet pastelitos de guayaba, plump and delicious croquetas, and many, many tiny, fragrant, powerful cups of cortadito.
Cain tried a shot of Cuban coffee while visiting the restaurant, commenting that it was very good, much to the delight of those around him. Then, he tried a ham croqueta. And it, too, was good. It was, in fact, delicious. And yet, that just didn’t seem like the right word. “How do you say ‘delicious’ in Cuban?” Cain asked the crowd around him.
Now. It’s not exactly a secret that I’m less than happy with Cain’s habit of dismissing his less appropriate comments or gaffes as being “jokes,” but I think that, maybe, the man may have just been joking here. Perhaps I’m blinded by homesickness and jealousy because I’m here in the New York rain instead of in humid Miami, eating my weight in croquetas and pastelitos, but I’m willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt and chalk this up as a cute, jokey comment rather than the results of Cain not knowing that people in Cuban speak Spanish, albeit a Spanish many non-Cubans can’t seem to understand unless we speak slowly.

It is very likely that Cubans (and Cuban exiles) have colloquial words for concepts like "tastes good" that are not common to other Spanish-speaking countries or locales. (For example, Spaniards do not use the expression, "Carumba!").
I seriously doubt HC is unaware that Cubans speak Spanish, and I doubt that the writer believes that either. He is just getting in a little dig.
Any politician coming in from the private sector will have to rely heavily on aides in the foreign policy area. And would it be rude of me to point out that Barry was something of a foreign policy dilletante when he came into office, whoring himself to the Arab world for no benefit or purpose? Promising to close down GITMO? Making an ass of himself with the Israeli's?

Or; maybe he knew [not to support Cain] and choose instead to refer and inquire of the colloquial Cuban-Spanish, [yes, it's different] as 'Cuban?'
...
I've lost count of how many Spanishes there are.
