I went to write a hairdresser's appointment on the calender for the Hatch.
Our calender is on the back of the shithouse door, so it gets read daily.
As I pressed on it a
huntsman spider crept out from behind it.
Luckily I was in the right room for an event like that!!
One of these buggers

I would sympathise with you, but as you spent a couple of days blowing on the spider whenever you passed her in the corridor, I am not surprised she decided to hide behind the calendar.
I am just grateful it ws YOU she jumped out at and not me.

One good thing about living where I do... less Hunstmen!
I assume that the incredibly lethal snakes eat them all...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

You guys should write ads for Tourism Australia.

I'm surprised the poor thing didn't meet its demise from methane poisoning.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Maybe I'll put the UK- and two or three other places - ahead of Oz in my future travel plans.

It is an environment that requires the use of common sense. Which can be a good thing in the long run.
Continental Darwinism.
Dales, the methane may well have struck after all.
The spider is curled on the floor, looking dead, but isn't. She may be getting ready for a skin-shed.

They are able to travel extremely fast, often using a springing jump while running,
Yeah, that's what I like to see in a ten inch spider....
The ability to
spring. ...

Not only that Jim, I kid you not, they swim too. They FUCKING SWIM!!
Some advice from another forum;
Cram it into the 6th window of your daughters advent calender (after firstly munching the choccie), shut the door and cunningly secure...then listen for the screams in the morning ]

Ours is hiding again, and I'm NOT going to tell you where.
(She told me she hates you blowing on her.)

Aaaahhh, so it's a Hunts(wo)man....

I'm not a fan of killing spiders myself, but I'm curious; why don't you relocate her outside?

We could, and often do.
If this one poses a scare to more than just the Gob, we might. I like their ability to seek out hidden daddy-long legs in the house and dispatch them.
I like to consider her my spider-spider-trap.

Shouldn't you be training the daddy-long-legs to hunt the huntsman instead?
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Perhaps it's just me, but I think I'd prefer a few daddy long legs around the house to one of those beasts.

I love them, I just prefer not to encounter them unexpectedly.
