Is it Me or Is it Absolution?

Post by Joe Guy »

A while back I switched over to the Absolution board view and started getting used to it.

This morning when I logged in I found that I had to scroll from side to side to view this place. There's big black gaps on both sides of the screen that seem to have become a necessary part of the view.

So I switched back to Prosilver and it's not a problem.

Also, this 'News & Suggestions' forum seems to be a bit off. The latest post is not at the top. It's six threads down.
Above it are posts from November, October, August & March.

The other forums seem to be okay.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

Nope, not you. Use prosilver 90% of the time, since the text is bigger (although, the monochrome is boring), but just tried a switch to Absolution, and you're right; it's acting like an over-sized image, with black borders.

However, the news & suggestions posts above yours are stickied there, on purpose.

I use Absolution and am not experiencing any problems. Looks the same as always.

Joe, the reason for that is because there are a lot of "sticky" threads in this forum room. (You'll notice the icon out to the left of those threads looks different from the others)

Oh... I see. And how was I supposed to know what those icons meant?

Did I not get the memo?

I know.

The administrators assume there is a certain level of intelligence among its membership and that anyone with half a brain would figure it out.

I object to that assumption!!

That depends on whether your brain is half full or half empty. :P

Absolution does seen to have a minimum page width.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I am having trouble with certain threads in Absolution because people use SUPER LONG LINKS in their posts.

I wish they wouldn't. My iGadget doesn't like the page width. :(
