What was actually said, by some, was that the possibility would not be categorically ruled out. Steve and Quad immediately twisted that into the claim that people had already been banned.

The thread you want is the thread you noted Jim.

As to the second part I think you'd find much of the membership is in agreement. Personally I think what ultimately soured the atmosphere at the CSB was not that a poster wasn't banned but that some posters were publicly and privately chastised while the protected members were allowed to act as they please. Thus creating a two tiered membership. combining that with there being only one defacto admin left those chastised with nowhere to appeal.

That is essentially what People were talking about here: Having a process of appeal.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I hadn't planned on reading through that whole thread, but I think now that I probably will....

Because so much of it is just so damn funny.....

Particularly Steve's unbelievably deranged, hysterical ramblings (in that thread, he goes so far off into the Twilight Zone that it almost makes everything else he's posted look sane by comparison...he really out does himself) and the deadpan, witty responses to his maniacal riffs from other posters...

I just got through the part where Steve accuses me of wanting to "kill" Gwen....  :loon

Before that I read an exchange where after Tyro completely demolishes some set of his outrageous claims, Steve responds with:

"As i find little your saying worthy of a response, i'll simply consider it detente' Ty...."

To which Tyro replies:

"Apology accepted"....

I was just starting to chuckle at that , when I scroll down and see Steve's next reply, where he becomes flustered with indignation over the idea that Tyro would consider his post an "apology" (completely missing Tyro's sarcasm)

At that point, I started laughing so hard that I damn near fell out of my chair....

If the second half of that thread is any where near as funny as the first, I'm going to need a change of underwear...

(I suppose I should probably feel a little guilty about laughing so hard what are clearly the writings of a person who has descended into a deep mental and ethical collapse, and become so totally detached from reality)

CSB=Complete Sanity Breakdown.

The lies and misrepresentations Quad :wank and Steve :mron write have to be done so on purpose. I assume it is to bait PlanBers so they, Q&S, can get their fix of drama. Or they just enjoy looking foolish and then enjoy being made to look even more foolish by others.

Quad referred to me as "trailerparkish" clearly confusing me with his wife.

I agree it is the drama they crave. There is no other reason for it. Still, if it is drama that they think will improve the CSB, then I guess the G-Man can consider that suggestion with the others that Daisy is forwarding to him.

Hey Daisy, I am pleased you were tasked with compiling the list for the G-Man. How did you manage to score that gig over Gwen?

You should feel flattered.

"Trailerparkish" is 'high class' in the quad's world.

And you should be thankful that he didn't say he wanted to lick you.

Gwen would no doubt get jealous and kick into a higher level of obtuseness.

Oh come on guys, the pinacle (or nadir) of the levels of insanity reached there, is to be found in Gwen's assertion that Steve's sock puppets are, and I quote; "Steve's satire"!

In psychiatry, we sometimes come across a condition known as "folie a deux"
Folie à deux ( from the French for "a madness shared by two") is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief are transmitted from one individual to another. Recent psychiatric classifications refer to the syndrome as dependency psychotic disorder (DSM-IV) (297.3) and induced delusional disorder (F.24) in the ICD-10, although the research literature largely uses the original name. The disorder was first conceptualized in 19th century French psychiatry.

Nuff said?

I think then it must be follies à trois. Or maybe I don't mean follies, but rather ménage...

I disagree.

I believe that was reached a few months back, when Gwen looked over the totality of Steve's posts and behavior and pronounced that what she saw was Steve:

"Following The Golden Rule"......

Unless she declares him as being "Christ like", it really doesn't get any crazier than that....

I'm now up to page 21 of Gar's thread....

I see he's weighed in, and from what he posted at this point, based on having read everything that went before in this thread, he appears to have come to the conclusion that the way to fix the CSB is with some new bells and whistles, an rss feed, etc....he says he's going to roll this stuff out this summer....

Not one word about the fundamental systemic problem of having sole admin authority in the hands of a person who through a whole series of actions and "responses" has completely tanked her credibility as an "honest broker" with all but a tiny handful of the members, and made quite clear that she doesn't give a damn what most of the membership wants.

That's lovely. I hope that Steve, Gwen, Editec, (and I guess Quad and Kiko) all enjoy their spiffy new deck chairs on The Titanic.....

Heh. It almost feels like waiting for G-Man to finish catching up all all the threads that had happened whilst he was absent.

Luckily you weren't as absent as G-man had been, Jim.

This, from Gar's remarks on page 22 of that thread:
For those three years Gwen had to make descisions that most likely exceeded her original understanding of the scope of her involvment as Admin. Those descisions no doubt had to be made - for better or worse. I can not come in three years latter and second guess or play monday morning quaterback to things that I was not here for and have little to no knowledge of as to the dynamics of at the time. Gwen pulled from resources that she had available to her, with the single over ridding "rule" being to use her best judgment and to that end I feel she has done exceedingly well. The CSB is still here. It is still running, and what more could I have asked for.
I think that may sum up pretty well why the CSB is a lost cause....

Gar feels a sense of debt (perhaps understandably) to Gwen, that makes it impossible for him to view objectively her current management of the CSB.

But it gets stranger after that, Jim.

On page 32 Daisy informs us that the G-Man asked her to abridge the wants, needs and genuine thoughts about what can make the CSB better, from his thread, for him to review.

I was surprised it wasn't Gwen who was tasked with this request.

I haven't gotten to page 32 yet!!!!

But I did come across the part where I started this:

And it makes me wonder, rereading it, why I cared so much....

I had been harrassing him on an almost daily basis to sort that shit out :D

Oddly enough there was only ONE constructive remark from GSE in the whole thread, and damn, I was a fair as I could be

Aha! So you're the one responsible for the 4,000 posts Dais... :D
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
