The series 2 DVD will be out in the UK on Jan 23 rd, I have it on pre order via Amazon UK. Though unless you have a compatible DVD player you will still have to wait in the US.

How do UK DVDs differ from those in the US?

Keld, I can't give you a technical answer, just that they are not compatible. If you look, some DVDs are labelled for different regions. I don't know if EU DVDs are compatible with UK or US ones. In the old days, I could not share VCR tapes with my German family.

regional encoding. simply put it's a ploy by the hardware and media companies to enable them to sell the same product at vastly different prices in different areas and preventing the "cheaper areas" from dumping their product on the world market.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

It's also because DVDs have different release dates in different countries. If a DVD is first released in the US (Region 1) it means it cannot be sold in Regions 2, 3 and 4 before it is officially released there.

Mind you, most DVD players these days (at least in Oz and the UK) are either multi-region or region-free.

I thought the NSTC and Pal format is more of a problem. If it isn't I can crack and burn the series for anyone interested.

Wouldn't that be slightly less than legal? I'd better report that post to Admin...

Love the authenticity mate. You can tell that the morphine is kicking in.

Apart from the hat and pipe, yes. :)

I was so tempted to buy a deerstalker and a calabash pipe there though.

Which is why, if you blow the image up full size, you will see it's not in my mouth. :)
