For those who believe the fairytale that the chemical attraction we commonly refer to as "love" conquers all, I suppose an inter-racial marriage is as good as any. For those who care to look at the pertinent statistics, the reality may be otherwise.
What's your point Dave? You appear to be stating that some races have inferior values and intelligence to others...
In the 80's we were shown (incessantly) that people who smoked dope and snorted cocaine were the "beautiful people," much cooler than everyone else.
I can't think of any examples of that offhand. Can you help me out?
Have you ever seen a college fraternity or any fraternity member portrayed on television or in a film in a positive light? I haven't.
Otter.
How often do you see anyone with a Southern or Western accent depicted as a person of intelligence?
Actually it's quite common to see Southern characters who are extremely intelligent but throw people off guard through being all folksy and Southern. Matlock springs to mind as do Atticus Finch and JR Ewing.
How often do you see an ugly or a fat person portrayed in a positive light?
Ugly or fat characters are often shown as stronger and/or more intelligent and/or better people than their beautiful counterparts. For example, Roseanne, Cyrano de Bergerac and Shrek.
Virtually every inter-racial relationship you will see in entertainment will be shown in a positive light, and there are many more of them in the programs than there are in reality.
I assume that you have numbers for this?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

It is pointless to make a general statement here.

The neurotics will point to a few examples that run counter to the general rule and call you a "liar."

Note the use of the word, "inferior" by Sean above. I say, "different," and he reads it as "inferior."

Asshole with a lot of time on his hands.

Atticus Finch never uses that device, ever. Go back and re-read the book or even see the movie.

Okay Dave, do if two people have "different" intelligences and one is not superior to the other... how exactly do they differ?

LMAO - The point remains that he is an intelligent character with a Southern accent.

I do admit though, my recollection is flawed. In my mind I could see Peck using that device in a courtroom but on further reflection what I was seeing was his role as Max Cady's lawyer in the remake of Cape Fear.

There's another character to add to the list Dave!

The above poster designed to attract young people to the DA (Democratic Alliance) (or Desperate Alternative) Youth League caused controversy here in SA.

The right wing critics accused the DA of encouraging "non-marital sexual relations" - although how they determined the two young people photographed are not married remains unknown. It seems like a code-word to me.

On the left wing, ANC hacks accused the DA of racism on the grounds that showing a white man and a black woman is "acceptable" but of course the DA had avoided the "unacceptable" showing of a black man and a white woman which the legacy of years of apartheid motivating the struggle of freedom loving people etc etc etc

Eish!

Not unless they remove their logo I wouldn't.

That's easy Sean...

Some people have the kind of intelligence that makes them good lawyers, doctors, or CPAs....

Some people have a "different" kind of intelligence....

A kind of intelligence that makes them good basketball players, rap singers or tap dancers....

That doesn't mean one is "superior" to the other... 8-)

Dammit Jim! You've given him a wriggle out! I really wanted to hear Dave explain... Because I don't think he could.

I think if he had meant it in the way you stated he would have used the term "different types of intelligence". Furthermore I think he would have corrected me fully in his last post.

There again, there's no harm in giving him the benefit of the doubt this time.

And yes Jim, I did get your none too subtle point...

:ok

That was not your original point. You're a liar. And a bore.

And he does not have a "Southern Accent" in the movie either. Making it an incompetent lie as well.

You are mental trash. Garbage.
