Thanks, all! (Although it's not actually my birthday yet here in CA).
I sort of got used to cats. The late Spousal Unit had two when we met, and over the years we sort of always had two cats. We had just adopted a feral kitten (found her in my garden in SF) when the Spousal Unit died, which brought the total to three, and she's the only one still around (not even remotely feral anymore); I don't know if I'll get another when she shuffles off her mortal coil...
ETA: Just got an e-mail from my dad telling the story (interesting only to those involved) of the day I was born. I'm convinced that my mother kept her legs crossed so that I would be born on February 29th. She was a great fan and singer of Gilbert and Sullivan, and Pirates of Penzance was one of her favorites.

Krisitna, I have a question for you, (I don't know any other Feb. 29th babies)
Do you odd balls normally, (the other three years) celebrate your birthdays on March 1st?
I'm guessing that would make more sense than Feb. 28th, since technically you were born the day after Feb. 28th...(Though you could also say that you were born on the last day of February, which would usually be the 28th)
