If you're paying attention, even what Rush said had meaning that had absolutely nothing to do with this 30 year old activist personally. It had to do and still has to do with what she specifically she said.

Those toons are the are stating specific things relative to what she said as well. They must hit a litle too close to home and you "can't handle the truth".

More hypocrisy, this guy didn't even try to get involved. BO approached him.
The Associated Press took on Wurzelbacher for not having a plumber’s license. “But the county Wurzelbacher and his employer live in, Lucas County, requires plumbers to have licenses,” John Seewer wrote for the AP on Oct. 16. “Neither Wurzelbacher nor his employer are licensed there, said Cheryl Schimming of Lucas County Building Regulations, which handles plumber licenses in parts of the county outside Toledo.”

The New York Times took a different approach with their inquiry to find the same conclusion. They went to a favorite liberal haunt – a union hall.

“An official at Local 50 of the plumber’s union, based in Toledo, said Mr. Wurzelbacher does not hold a license,” Larry Rohter and Liz Robbins wrote for the Times “The Caucus” blog. “He also has never served an apprenticeship and does not belong to the union. (The national plumber’s union, the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters, and ServiceMechanics, endorsed Mr. Obama, it should be noted.)”

“‘He’s basically playing games with the world,’ Thomas Joseph, the local’s business manager, said in a telephone interview to the Times.”

Wurzelbacher told the AP he didn’t need a license because the company he is contracted by has a license. But Bloomberg took it a step further looking into the tax records of “Joe the Plumber” – all this because he questioned Obama about taxes.

“‘Joe the plumber,’ the Toledo, Ohio, man whose complaints about Barack Obama’s tax plan were featured in the final presidential debate, owes the state of Ohio almost $1,200 in back income taxes,” Ryan Donmoyer wrote on Oct. 16 for Bloomberg. “According to records on file with the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, the state filed a tax lien against Samuel J. Wurzelbacher for $1,182.98 on Jan. 26, 2007, that is still active.”

The Toledo Blade, Wurzelbacher’s local newspaper asked if he was even legally eligible to vote.

“Questions were raised Thursday morning whether Mr. Wurzelbacher is a registered voter,” Larry Vellequette and Tom Troy wrote in the Oct. 16 Toledo Blade. “Linda Howe, executive director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, said a Samuel Joseph Worzelbacher, whose address and age match Joe the Plumber’s, registered in Lucas County on Sept. 10, 1992. He voted in his first primary on March 4 of this year, registering as a Republican.”

Calling her a "slut" had nothing to do with her personally?

Ok, you're a child molester. But nothing personal, ok?

Not if you actually listened to the dialogue, which I was at the time. It was an analysis of what she would/could be doing with a $3000 freebe, 12 condoms a day?.

She expects the tax payer to pay for her to have sex, with no limitations as to any method she chooses.

Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown law student, made her case at a hearing last Thursday on the Jesuit university’s policy on contraception by arguing students there end up paying up to $1,000 annually for birth control because they lack coverage under current health plans, reports The Washington Post.
Out here in the civilised world contraception is free to all women of child bearing age, nice to see some are working hard to keep the US at third world country levels of society.

Which is asinine. Even if she only ends up having sex once a year she still needs to take the pill every day.

You do know how oral contraceptives work, don't you? You don't just pop a pill when you think you'll be having sex. So calling her a "slut" solely by virtue of the type of birth control she has chosen is just idiotic enough for you to claim.

Speaking of Bill Maher:
U.S. News
Bill Maher defends Rush Limbaugh for 'slut' apology

LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian Bill Maher used Twitter Wednesday to defend Rush Limbaugh who apologized for calling a contraception advocate a "slut."

"Hate to defend #RushLimbaugh but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting," Maher tweeted. "Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout."

Too bad those centuries of societal learning evolution got upstaged by decades of scientific learning evolution.

New information should mean a new worldview. But I guess not if you fear change so much.

The first toon is just completely moronic.

The second toon misses the point entirely. The country isn't paying for anything, and will in fact save money on this.

The third toon only works if you ignore how health insurance works. Viagra is covered by health insurance which means you already pay for other peoples' choices. You just don't care when it's men benefiting from the system.

If you want to pay for insurance that provides contraceptives or viagra, please go for it. Requiring all health insurance to provide either one is assinine, viagra even moreso. Next it will have to cover prostitutes for those who need the viagra but are unable to fullfil their desires.

These types of things are exactly what is wrong with insurance and medical costs today. Anyone should be able to buy a basic poilcy that covers acute medical conditions only, we wouldn't ave nearly as many people without coverage. But govt, in it's infinate wisdom of knowing better than you, requires stupid non sickness conditions to be covered.
Which is asinine. Even if she only ends up having sex once a year she still needs to take the pill every day.
No, she can CHOOSE to use a less costly method. no money, no play.

So how does choosing one of the most effective methods make her a slut, then?

And...

You do realize that if she were using condoms, she could be picking them up almost anywhere from places that get them paid for by the government.

So in denying her the ability to get oral contraceptives through her insurance, you are in effect telling her to have sex on the government's dime.

Guess you didn't think that one through, huh?

And yet one that is reality*, nevertheless.

So all this time you have been advocating for this woman to have her birth control paid for by the government, instead of her insurance company.

*and, btw, one that has saved billions of dollars in health care costs

Congratulations on proving that you paid absolutely no attention to anything said in this thread before you showed up.

Covering birth control reduces medical expenses.

The most disheartening thing about all of this is that in the early 1970s there was a political consensus that providing birth control was the only intelligent thing to do.

In the early 1980s the retrograde stupid right linked birth control to abortion, not in the intelligent way that would say that making effective birth control widely available can prevent abortions, but in the stupid way that only conservatives could possibly think makes sense: both are a way of women avoiding punishment for having sex.

Conservative = evil and stupid.

This probably showed up elsewhere on Plan B - but from last week:
A bomb squad was sent to Rush Limbaugh's Palm Beach, Fla., residence Thursday evening after security personnel discovered a suspicious package on the premises, WPTV reports.

According to the Palm Beach Daily News:

Palm Beach Police spokesman Fred Hess said the package appears to not be dangerous or hazardous. He said it was delivered late this afternoon and was X-rayed, as is all mail sent to the Limbaughs' home. When Limbaugh's staff saw what appeared to be wires in the package through the X-ray, they called police.
The package originated from a Pennsylvania man offering Limbaugh "a business opportunity," police said. Inside was an "electronic [plaque] commemorating the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth."

Limbaugh sparked outrage Wednesday after calling Sandra Fluke, a birth control advocate denied the opportunity to testify before Congress in February, a "slut." However, no connection between his comments and the package have been established, police say. The sender hasn't been publicly identified, but reportedly apologized to authorities when contacted.

It is unclear whether or not the conservative radio host was at the residence at the time of the incident.

I'm afraid my first reaction was "Bombed again!"

On the OP.... look the man was grade 1 stupid and offensive to say what he did. But what's new about that? His point (a dull one) is that a person who gets paid for having sex is a slut - his analogy (a pisspoor one) is that a woman who wants health insurance to pay for her contraceptives is, in effect, associating sex with reward or payment. Yes it's reprehensible of him really. But it should be clear that he wasn't saying that women who have sex are sluts; or that women who use contraceptives are sluts; or that this woman was a prostitute because she has sex and so on. His error (apart from opening his mouth) was to make the comment about a particular person, named - had he made a more general statement about "people who want to be paid to enjoy their sex lives" (which is hardly the definition of a prostitute anyway) he'd not have been noticed.

Other than that he's still a DF.
