Right I will mediate if no one else offers up.

I will set up a thread that only the three of us may post to. Whilst the mediation is in session NO-ONE else on the board is to discuss the goings on in that thread until it is completed at that point it will be closed. Also all other drama and shit flinging is to cease in all other threads.

If this can be agreed on then I will set this up this evening.

I propose that the thread run for a week to take into account the three time zones we post from.

I will do my level best to be impartial, loCA you know this to be the case as I responded as much to your PM the other week.

After this if the shitfest will close and no-one will be banned or suspended and we can get back to the vibrant discussions that this board does best.

Anyone disagree with this course of action?

I can't imagine that either party would have a problem with you as mediator. Your proposal seems fair and even handed.

One question though...
What happens if anyone is daft enough to carry on the shit or discuss the mediation in another thread?

I don't think this board has become a "train wreck"....

To put things here in perspective, I just did a little cruise through the forum rooms and a total of 51 threads have had posts added to them in the past couple of days (since Monday) on a very wide range of subjects.

So there's plenty of stuff going on here that has nothing to do with any of this drama....

The thing is that when there's a dramafest going on it tends to draw a lot of attention disproportionate to what it represents on the board overall...

This is just human nature... (if there are ten chess matches going on in a bar and one fist fight, what's likely to draw the most attention?)

There are four threads where this current round of nastiness has been going on, (two in this room and two in General Stuff) which makes 46 live discussions that people are participating in that have nothing to do with this....

No, this kind of stuff is not healthy, but if you look at the big picture, I think we're a long way from a CSB style train wreck...

We're also waiting to learn what Lo wants to achieve by this "mediation", what the purpose and point of it would be.

Seeing as at first the pissed newt asked for "meditators", I'm not holding out any fucking hope whatsoever that she actually has aims and objectives for this mediation.

I've suggested Reality Bytes and Genr'l Meade, since (I assume) we both know and trust them. I'm open to any other such impartial, fair-minded meditators.

The intent is not to find blame or judgement, but to achieve real communication in private.
