Sure, because a president who would use the power of the state to interfere in a person's end of life decisions and prevent children from getting into good homes is a much better idea than a governor who would do the same.

Re: Romney Vs. Santorum Vs. Obama
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has crowned a string of Super Tuesday victories with a win in the marquee swing state of Ohio.
As expected, he won in his home state of Massachusetts, as well as Idaho, Vermont and Virginia.
After a cliffhanger count, he narrowly edged out Rick Santorum to take Ohio, the night's most coveted prize.
Mr Santorum won contests in three states, while Newt Gingrich took his home state of Georgia.
Ron Paul was pinning his hopes for his only victory of the nomination campaign on Alaska's caucuses.

THE battle for the Republican Party crown is moving into new territory, with the ''reddest of the red'' states, Kansas, heading for the polls.
In normal times, the Kansas vote merits only a passing mention, but with no clear Republican candidate yet to take on President Barack Obama in the November elections, all is still to play for.
''We're very much on the candidates' radar because Super Tuesday has come and gone and we still don't know who our nominee is,'' said Lora Cox, executive director of the Sedgwick County Republican Party.
''We are definitely the heartland for conservative thought,'' she said, adding: ''I anticipate a big turnout of conservative voters.''
Ultra-conservative Kansas is an unlikely match for Mitt Romney, and the former governor of liberal Massachusetts has stayed away, focusing instead on Tuesday's primaries in the key southern states of Alabama and Mississippi.
Although Mr Romney consolidated his pole position in last week's slew of votes, he failed to knock either Rick Santorum nor former House speaker Newt Gingrich out of the race. Libertarian Texas congressman Ron Paul is also still hanging on, even though he has yet to win a contest.
No polls have been carried out in Kansas, but most observers believe Mr Santorum's message will win over conservatives, though the race could be muddled.
In Wichita, Mr Santorum lumped Mr Obama and Mr Romney together while likening himself to former president Ronald Reagan.
''That guy who was too conservative - you remember him?'' Mr Santorum said to cheers from supporters gathered in an aircraft hangar. ''That guy who talked about the sanctity of human life and the importance of marriage in America.''
So far Mr Romney is leading the pack overall, having won about a third of the 1144 delegates needed to secure the party's nomination, after 23 contests in the Republicans' complex state-by-state race.

Needs a fix.
''That guy who was too conservative - you remember him?'' Mr Santorum said to cheers from supporters gathered in an aircraft hangar. ''That guy who put abortion and gay marriage above sorting out the real problems of the country. The guy seen as a swivel-eye'd lunatic by anyone with a functioning synapse left.''

Re: Romney Vs. Santorum Vs. Obama
Yay!! Go President Santorum!!!Rick Santorum has overwhelmingly won the Kansas Republican presidential caucuses.
Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney did not campaign in Kansas, while rival Newt Gingrich cancelled a scheduled trip to the state late last week to concentrate on Tuesday's upcoming primaries in Alabama and Mississippi.
In the other caucuses being held Saturday, Romney is showing strength in Wyoming. Some counties in Wyoming caucused earlier in the week.
Returns from 73 percent of the Kansas precincts showed Santorum with 53 percent support, far outpacing Romney, who had 17 percent. Gingrich had 16 percent and Ron Paul trailed with 13 percent.
Santorum picked up at least 32 of the state's 40 delegates at stake, cutting slightly into Romney's overwhelming advantage.

Re: Romney Vs. Santorum Vs. Obama
I saw an analysis earlier this week that showed that Santorum needs to win something like 60 percent of the remaining delegates to get to the nomination threshold.
That ain't happening.
Santorum had a real shot at the nomination, and he could have been a stronger general election candidate than Romney, but he blew it.
If he had had the discipline to stay on his economic message in the run up to the Michigan Primary, he'd have won there, he'd have won Ohio a week later, and the political landscape today would look completely different.

Re: Romney Vs. Santorum Vs. Obama
Jimmy I think the more relevant question is, "What will it take for Mitt to lack the necessary votes to win a first-round victory at the convention?" None of Santorum, Newt, or Ron Paul is going to get enough votes to win before the convention, but will it still be up for grabs?
One of the dynamics here is not really being discussed. Conservatives were VERY unhappy with the McCain nomination last year. We felt like we got jobbed with some of the critical delegates being won in states with "open" primaries, where it is thought that democrat saboteurs carried the day for McCain.
I think "we" would rather go down in flames with a candidate we like (e.g., Jeb Bush) than lose with someone who none of us really wants. Like last time.

It is common knowledge that music affects behavior.
???
I wouldn't mind seeing some support for that. I think it's total, made-up bullshit.

Re: Romney Vs. Santorum Vs. Obama
Santorum's double win and his own third place finishes last night have Put Cheesy Grits in yet another Perils of Pauline situation where he now has yet another must win primary next week in Illinois....
The last polls had him with a three point lead there, but after last night's defeats I expect the polls will have Santorum pulling ahead....
Of course now Rick will probably start talking about exorcism, or something else of equal importance to voters, and hand Mitt another final reel cliff hanger escape...

...or the Media will be (mis) quoting Santorum as demanding abortion for all liberal fetuses.
I wouldn't put it past them. Or you. The lies and misrepresentations continue unabated.
The irony of last night's results is that the Southern Baptists are apparently uncomfortable with a Mormon...but have found comfort in a (fucking) Catholic! JFK must be laughing his ass off down in hell.
And by the way, anyone familiar with the Declaration of Independence knows that our rights come from God (not from Government).

Re: Romney Vs. Santorum Vs. Obama
To say that some rights come from God is a completely different statement than to say that God gave a Bill of Rights. The former is a logical philosophical position for someone who believes in God to hold. The latter is sheer nonsense. God did not ordain a right to trial by jury.

Sorry, I missed the news conference when Rick stated that the Bill of Rights came from God. Must have been sleeping that day.
