Canada's Crying Game

Post by Gob »

A beauty pageant has booted a contestant out the competition after discovering the buxom blonde was born a boy.

The Miss Universe Canada organizers threw out Jenna Talackova when they found out she had undergone surgery to become a woman.

The transgendered contestant had already successfully reached the finals in the Miss Vancouver pageant before she was banned from continuing in the competition.

Although the pageant organizers described Talackova as a ‘real girl’ they disqualified her arguing that the rules state that each contestant must be a ‘naturally born female.’

According to Denis Davila, the national director of Miss Universe Canada, Talackova claimed on her registration form she was born a female.

But becoming suspicious Davila confronted the 23-year-old about her sex change and the contestant admitted she was actually born a male.

Despite her pleas to stay in the pageant her confession meant that she was pulled from the contest that same day.

'She feels like a real girl and she is a real girl. She didn’t expect people to question it,' Davila told thestar.com.

'She was hoping we could put her back in the competition, but the rules are very clear and there’s no way we can go back on it.'

The decision from the Miss Universe Canada pageant, which is owned by Donald Trump, has sparked outrage with people calling for Jenna to be reinstated into the contest.

She's stunning.

If she wants to be in a stupid pageant, let her.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

If they're really serious about limiting the pageant to those who have only the equipment they were born with, they should be checking the undersides of breasts for scars from augmentation surgery.

Good idea Scoot.

Do they need volunteers? ;)
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

No harm in putting yourself out there if you're interested. :)

Although, while admitting I am no connaisseur of straight porn, one of the things that completely turned me off whenever I have watched it, is those camera shots from below when those scars are visible under the breasts. I guess straight men don't particularly care how they got that big, just so long as they are.

Some straight men prefer small and real.

Update:
Beauty queen who was born a male can compete after all

Jenna Talackova, the Vancouver beauty queen who was kicked out of the Miss Universe Canada competition, will be allowed to compete after all.

Ms. Talackova, 23, was disqualified from the Donald Trump-organized Miss Universe Canada competition last week because she was born a male. She had been originally selected as one of 65 finalists, but her profile and photos were stripped from the Miss Universe Canada website after she was dropped from the pageant.

On Monday, however, the Trump organization backtracked on its earlier decision, ABC News reported.

“The Miss Universe Organization will allow Jenna Talackova to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions,” Michael D. Cohen, executive vice-president and special counsel to Donald Trump, said in an e-mail.

Although the rules on the Miss Universe website say a female entrant must be a Canadian citizen between the ages of 18 and 27, it does not mention any rules involving sexual reassignment. In an interview posted on YouTube, Ms. Talackova says she began hormone therapy at 14 and had her reassignment surgery at 19.

Ms. Talackova and her U.S. attorney, Gloria Allred, were scheduled to hold a news conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday to plead the beauty queen’s case on why she ought to be allowed to compete and outline legal action should the Trump organization continue to reject her.

There’s no word yet from Ms. Talackova responding to Monday’s announcement.

She is not a woman. All of the surgery, hormones, makeup, effort, clothing, and behavior modification in the world cannot change that fact.

Allowing her to compete is absurd.

Miss Universe to allow transgender women in pageants

Miss Universe says it will allow transgender women to compete in its pageants starting in 2013, a week after a current contestant was reinstated.

Twenty-three-year-old Jenna Talackova, a Vancouver resident who was born male, will be able to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant this year.

The organisation previously barred her under the rule that contestants be "naturally-born" female.

Miss Universe said it was still working on the language of the rule change.

The policy revision follows consultations with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad), that organisation and Miss Universe said in a joint statement.

Miss Universe president Paula Shugart said she "wants to give credit where credit is due".

"The decision to include transgender women in our beauty competitions is a result of our ongoing discussions with Glaad and not Jenna's legal representation, which if anything, delayed the process," Ms Shugart said.

Miss Universe Canada reversed its decision last week as Ms Talackova, who underwent a sex change four years ago, prepared to call a news conference.

"I have never asked for any special consideration," Ms Talackova said last week. "I only wanted to compete."

Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe contest, has wished her the best of luck.
