Here in South Africa the government has a Department headed by Minister Lulala Xingwana "for Women, Children and People with Disabilities" Women here sometimes question the equivalence this implies
Just last week a police spokesman, sadly at the funeral of a female police officer, affirmed that "SAPS in the coming years will continue its attacks against the women" then he took a long breath, turned the page and added "and child abusers".
Minister Xingwana (not yet married to President Zuma) must have been relieved.
And on that last note, our 70-year old Pres. recently celebrated his fourth marriage (total 6 but one killed herself and another divorced him - sensible woman, Dlamini-Zuma is head of Home Affairs and a very sharp person). So anyhow, all these four wives get tax-payer funded living accoms and a healthy pension when JZ hits the wall. Zuma is being hailed as the best president ever "improving the lives of South African women, one at a time".
