I'd say it must be Obama by a landslide, certainly in the EC. Ohio will be his. Mutt might manage 34%. I've already filled in my absentee ballot request - politicians may tremble!

Now can we get back to the Mormon's opponent, who voluntarily chose to sit in church every Sunday for more than 20 years listening to one of the most hateful race baiters on the planet. Who chose that race-baiting bigot to marry him and "educate" his children in their most formative years?
In a choice between magic underwear and an ardent, lifetime follower of a hateful, race-baiting phony, I think I'll go with the magic underwear.
I predict that my own state of Pennsylvania will go for Romney, by a razor-thin margin.

It is far far too early to predict who is going to win this election, given all the things that could break either way, and how close the outcome is likely to be, barring something truly unforseen....
I suppose you'd have to give a slight advantage to Obama's chances just based on the power of incumbency, and the fact that he holds slight leads in most of the battle ground states...
Though the fact that he isn't in better shape, given the lead he has with some important demographics, and all the negative focus on Romney as the result of a really ugly nomination fight that's just concluded, ought to have Team Obama very concerned....
The one prediction I am prepared to make is that this election is almost certain to be much closer than the last one, no matter who wins. I'll be very surprised if the winner of this election gets much more than 300 electoral votes, if that.
I think that we're going to be looking at an outcome in terms of closeness along the lines of 2004.
It starts out 47-47, and it all comes down to who can persuade the largest percentage of the remaining 6 per cent.....

I'm quite comfortable predicting where Massachusetts will end up --- and its not for Romney. I'll even go out on a limb and say that New Hampshire will stay blue, as will Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island.
I think this does end up being about the same margins as last time. Mittens isn't going to win more hearts and minds over the next 7 months.

Guin, you really see Barak Obama winning by as big a margin as he did in 2008? His own political team doesn't see that happening.
I don't see any scenario (short of Romney getting arrested in an airport men's room) under which that happens. That election was a perfect storm for a Democratic challenger. The dynamics of this one are going to be entirely different.

Yep -- and not because Obama is all that wonderful, but because Romney just won't be able to cut it. The man carries more baggage than Obama, and in far more expensive bags

Eh, too early to put any money on the ultimate outcome, but it's obvious that Master Willardforth Mittington Rmoneybot has an uphill climb. I'll vote against him, as will the rest of my state. While the GOP primaries were a hilarious freak show, I just don't know if I can stand listening to another six months of campaigning.

OK, thinking quickly through the states that might swing back the other way -- Virginia and North Carolina, maybe Colorado -- maybe it will be closer, but it won't be close.

As for Montana; it will be interesting to see what happens, as I think religion might be an issue re: Romney. Y'all saw Governor Schweitzer on the news on the polygamy issue; I'm not endorsing that he went there, but I think it reveals what may be a widespread skeeviness amongst conservative Lutheran ranchers about magic underwear.
Montana has been purple in recent years, and Obama's first campaign made a concerted effort to earn the Native and youth vote here to great success. We still went for McCain, but after the weirdness in our legislature following the last election geared toward tea party types, there could be a liberal backlash in the fall.
I suppose the safe bet is to predict for Mitt, but I hold out hope.

My guess is NJ will go for Obama, unless Christy get the VP nomination in which case it's anyone's guess. But my prediction is turnout will be very low in most states, I can't see voting for either of these guys--I really can't take Roney and Obama has proven to be such a disappointment that pulling the lever for him will be very difficult (christy getting the VP nomination (which i don't think will happen) might make it a bit easier, but I still don't think so). I'm pretty disgusted by the "choice" presented.
