Hardly your average nutter parents, and they're embracing mainstream child psychology/psychiatry in seeking treatment - not homeopathic crap (I threw that in the mix for rubato).

I get your point but don't see it in this scenario as you obviously do.

Why not?

In my country, anyone with a license [business, law, security, medical (mental and physical) etc.] can be asked, and is legally required to show said license, once asked.
It's why they hang it on the wall, or carry a badge.

It's not improper to inquire, as to what a person's authority is based on.

So sayin'

Also juss sayin';

I know a guy in my trailerhood who has a position in a 'High Level Security Area', who doesn't brag about it as such.

Sure, he carries two badges, and has the regular background checks from the FBI. This I know, because one year, I, La Loca was the neighbor they checked with and interviewed as an eyewitness to his upstanding behavior. ...while the FBI agent flashed the badge to prove that he was, who he authoritatively said he was....

Meanwhile, what my neighbor does in that high level security area is called 'sanitation engineering' IOW - he's a janitor, meaning: he swabs decks and cleans toilets; he just needs a security clearance to do it.
I guess you could call him a member of a National Security team :shrug like saying you're part of a Mental Health Assessment Team?

Okay...

No, you're being a fucking troll again is what you're doing.

And by the way, you don't have the right as random troll to demand to see any licensed professional's license in this country, either.

It would do you good to expend a wee effort to research the crap you want to say before you say it.

I'm a TIG/MIG Precision/Proto Welder of Aluminum, Stainless Steel and CRS - Cold Rolled Steel. Your turn.

I want to know because you base many assertions on your occupation. I want to know if your authority is valid.

Are you really that obtuse?

Next time you have dinner with your buddy the great legal genius, ask him.

Or, you know, Google it.

LoCa, there's an obvious difference between a law enforcement official performing their duties, and any Tom, Dick, or Mary who just happens to ask....

I'm reasonably confident that you are smart enough to know this, so I have to say the question sounds disingenuous.

Also, I recall that on more than one occasion Strop has posted exactly what he does, as well as what certifications he holds. He has no obligation whatsoever to respond to these inquiries from a person who appears to be repeatedly asking these questions simply for the purpose of annoying and irritating him and trying to throw him on the defensive....

ThX, but I didn't ask YOU [BSG] what your job was. I asked you why we can legally be asked for our Driver's Licenses.

I did ask Gob what his job was, as per my US legal right to do so.

LJ - begging your pardon, yes, he's said he would provide his qualifications; but I can't recall when he/Gob has done so.

Pls repeat that for this Loca, if you will.

Ok, just to shut the stupid fucking bitch up.

I am senior psychotherapist, and team leader, of a clinical team who treat young people aged 16-25 years of age who are experiencing first episode psychosis/schizophrenia, in the community, with the object of minimising the need to hospitalise them. I am qualified, registered and licensed to practice in the UK and Australia. I am also a licensed “Mental Health Officer” which gives me certain legal rights and responsibilities when dealing with mentally ill people in crisis. I have two degrees, and several post graduate diplomas and certifications. I have 28 years experience in a wide range of mental health fields.

Driving is a regulated activity. Drivers submit to the statutory limitations on the privilege to drive. One of those is to provide the legally required documentation (license, registration and proof of insurance) to law enforcement upon request. The context of such a request can be anything from routine traffic stop to particularized suspicion of illegal activity ultimately leading, perhaps,to probable cause to arrest.

The assumption is that the licensed individual is engaging in the licensed activity thus subject to the legal requirement to provide said license upon demand.

Now, I know this is painfully difficult for you, but try to make the obvious leap here . . . I can't demand your driver license when you are talking on the interwebs about driving.

Additionally, if you came up to me at a dinner party and demanded to see my law license (which hangs on the wall of my office) or my bar card, which I carry with me, I could cheerfully tell you to fuck right off.

Now, it you go to a lawyer's office and hire her to practice law, different story. Same with doctors or accountants or the barber who cuts your hair.

The police have magical powers which allow them in limited circumstances to demand to see your identification just because - but that discussion would complicate things too much for you, so just trust me when I tell you, you don't have those same magic powers.

Certain, non-doctoral rights? Meanwhile, other mental health fields, not so much?

I know they range so. Wide ranges, such as what?
...and why was that so had to admit?

Who has ever claimed to have doctors rights?

As mental helath officer I have the same legal rights to admit someone involuntarily to hospital as a doctor does.

Why do you need to know?

Adult mental health, crisis mental health, children's mental health, sexual abuse, etc etc...

Wow, loCA, you acted like a reasonably decent person for a few days and I was lulled into thinking you were reforming.

Seems you skipped paying the fare enough times this week to hit the bottle and morph back into

mode.

How about you drop the harassment of Gob? Plenty of us who are actually largely respectful posters have actually had opportunity to verify Gob's professional credentials - this barrage of demands from you does nothing to improve your credibility.
