All things related to the general running of the forum - got a suggestion? Here's where it should go.

Editec became completely obsessed with this idea, and in addition to starting thread after thread that focused on some variation of this theme, also attempted to turn many other unrelated discussions into conversations about it.
Edi was afraid the MOTU were going to stop his dole payments, he's unable to work due to chronic dope smoking and his time being taken up running the "Rosetta Project". He was also scared that the CIA were watching the internet and that's why he always called cannabis "cannubus" or "hemp", the sly old fox.

Well, Strop Old Darling, given the portion of my post you chose to quote, I think it would only be fair to point out that I did say that I believe Steve was worse.... 8-)

"Light years ahead" in terms of going crazier faster....

I suspect though that if one looks at it objectively, (which I know is very difficult to do when one is on the receiving end of unfair attacks... ) that most folks would conclude that Steve (over time) became a more destructive force on the CSB than editec.

I don't say that to defend editec....his behavior was reprehensible...

I have kind of a unique perspective on this, because I took a two month sabbatical from the CSB right after last Halloween, and didn't start posting again till right around the first of the year....

During that time, a lot happened...

Hen returned to the board, and Steve and editec drove you both off with vile, false accusations...(I certainly don't blame you for deciding not to put up with it... I wouldn't have)

When you guys came back to the board, they immediately attempted to drive you off again, using the same tactics...(Why not? It worked before...)

The strategy was obvious; I really don't think anyone fell for it...

The fact of the matter is, the one person who really brought some new energy, creativity, and hope for the CSB was Hen....

Like pretty much everyone else, I was taking as a given that the place would slowly die...

I can't speak for anyone else, but the energy and positive "can do" attitude that she brought to the table lit a fire under my butt...

If it hadn't been for Hen, I would never have started the "Re-vitalize The CSB" thread...I wouldn't have bothered...

If nobody else gives a shit, why should I?

But Hen clearly gave a shit, and that inspired me to give a shit....(Strop, you're a lucky man to have such a motivating woman of this sort in your life...and so too am I..Lady Kelly has gotten me off my ass on more than one occasion :D .)

Oh I know that Jim, and I'm grateful for it everyday.

That's why at first it was infuriating, then became hysterically funny, when Chicken "I paid for enlarged tits for my wife's boyfriend to play with" Steve, tried to put a wedge between us, claiming that Hen was the master and I was her yes man. Obviously the man has never known a partnership of complementary equals!

Thanks you lot, now I am blushing! Most kind of you.

I recognise and admit that I was a complete pain in the arse to any one with administrative controls at the CSB. I know WHAT a pain in the arse I can be when I have a bee under my bonnet. (This has nothing to do with Rubato.)

I realise I scared some posters with my return, my posts and my demands.

However, it is a shame they had to react so personally.

Including you Kiko.

Still. That was then, and this is now.

What I tried to achieve didn't happen. Hopefully, should the G-Man decide to return the Board, I can assist in achieving his goals.

Now where is our Quaddy to gloat that the Board was shut down as per his suggestion? I could do with kicking his arse congratulating him on his foresight.
Bah!

I suspect that if Gwen had it all to do over again...

She would have yielded to the majority on the vote over the editing time issue, and avoided all this unpleasantness...

Well, it was a kind of home, or gathering place for many of us.

Frankly, and mushily for me, that relationship lasted longer than my marriage did.

To tell the truth, there were times when debating on that forum was the highlight and support I needed to get through my inner-city angst.

Editecs MOTU started out as a fairly rational "blind self interest of the monied classes" and devolved into whoever I happen to dislike at the moment. oddlty enough that happened almost immediately after Mediator left and he no longer had to repeat his former definition almost daily.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

loCAtek wrote:He's admitted it a few times, the 'Evil ~Steve' (his nic not mine) just wants to antagonize people.

The excuses for it are irrelevant, since he'll make them up if he needs one. The underlying problem is: he feels so powerless in his real life, with the loss of his child custody being the last straw; that the only place he could find any sort of control or power was by being a verbal bully on the CSB.
He became a troll because it was the biggest form of attention he could get; negative attention.

Unfortunately, someone took advantage that and pointed him towards targets, then patted him on the head for being 'strong', so far sadly, he doesn't realize he's being used.

I saw that manipulative side of Gwen from all the 'thanking' she required. So like my mom; it isn't really your gratitude she wants but your indebtedness; your dependence on her. ~Steve has swallowed that hook, line and sinker. What guy wouldn't want that- power and a pretty girl who thinks he's a big, strong man?

Tell him that though, and you just feed the troll. What he really needs is too get away from his keyboard, get outta that kitchen and go out in the world. Maybe find a real girlfriend and get laid!
Just to say Hmmmm...
