LiLo's possible "indecisiveness of her attraction to Dick." No doubt. Isn't she of the lesbionic persuasion? Or was that just some kind of publicity stunt?

I have never seen Lindsay Lohan act; I only know her as a criminal.
Was she any good as an actor?
I think a far wiser choice would have been Ashley Judd. She's a bit older than Liz was when she met Burton, but has youthful looks and is an excellent actor.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Now there's someone who would have the depth to play Elizabeth Taylor. Hilary Swank, Keira Knightley, Reese Witherspoon could all probably do it justice.

ACTOR Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in the television biopic Liz & Dick is a casting coup if the first official photo is any indication.
Lohan channels the screen legend in a black and white photograph released to coincide with the start of shooting of the film, which also stars New Zealand-born actor Grant Bowler as Richard Burton.
The biopic from the American cable TV network Lifetime looks at the enduring love story of the two acting greats.
Bowler, 43, is 18 years older than Lohan, while there was a seven-year age gap between Burton and Taylor, who married each other twice.
Taylor and Burton co-starred in Cleopatra, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Taming of the Shrew.
''When you see both of them [Lohan and Bowler] in full hair and make-up, it is the definition of movie magic,'' Liz & Dick executive producer Larry Thompson told the celebrity gossip website PerezHilton.com.
''It was just Fourth of July firecrackers going off in the room. We knew from the chemistry that Liz and Dick live again.''

... I'm all atingle! I think I'm smelling the lit fuse to a very big box office bomb. No one cares about Lohan and, at this point, very few have any memory of Liz Taylor other than shilling her stink water, "White Diamonds." If "Dick in Liz" makes a profit I'm turning in my SAG card.
Next up for LiLo, "Battlefield Earth: L. Ron's Revenge"

The problem as I see it is that everyone who hates Lohan will say, "See, I told you so," while those who don't know or care much about her personal life will base their opinion of the movie on the quality of the story.
And the movie critics will decide what the majority should think.
And many people will accept the critics' opinion and not judge for themselves.
So LL will need to walk on water in order to be deemed acceptable by those who do the deeming for us.

ANYONE who would purport to portray Elizabeth Taylor would have to walk on water in order to credibly take on that role, because no one watching can help but compare whomever it is to the original. Which is why a lot of people are saying that LL doesn't have what it takes, but perhaps she will surprise everyone.

Sorry, JG, I didn't mean to stab you in the heart like that. I'll try to be more kind in the future. Unrequited love can make you crazy.
For your sake I sure hope this doesn't interfere with the making of "Dick in Liz," her epic, cinematic tour de force now in production. Maybe if you convey some well-wishes she'll be back in the pink in no time.

I finally received a cell phone message from Lindsay - "Dear Joe, I was thinking of what you wrote and now that I'm having this nice comfortable drive I decided I would take the time to thank you for your thoughts and generous offers. I think we should meet at.................................. Oo00000000ooooooops!!....................###@@ squeak KRUNTCH!! Uh... operator. Is this Cleveland?"
I think our spirits have connected and there may be an actual future for us.
I've been meaning to comment on this, from the OP:
The British actress died at the age of 79 in March last year.
Bit cheeky that....
Yes, Taylor was born in the UK, and thus had dual citizenship....
But her parents were both American, from Kansas in fact....and they moved back to the US when she was 7....
Over the years I've seen Taylor most commonly referred to as an "American actress" and even a couple of times as an "American-British Actress" or even "British born American Actress".....
But that's the first time I've ever seen her referred to as a "British actress"....
... the Art of Pretension. The cachet of being a British actor -- or one who is closer to the Bard's work -- would be something not readily denied.
I think Taylor was a fairly good actor but I always felt she was hiding some deep, dark personality disorders. Maybe it was having the public finding out that she was a lot less then the publicity the critics and press bestowed upon her. Then again, there aren't many actors out there who haven't reinvented themselves along the way. Hey, many of them get into the business because they are somewhat conflicted emotionally. Mostly, however, and due to a lot of exposure to regional theater people, I'm no doubt quite jaded.
God bless our American royalty. Tabloids would be lost without them.

Reminds me of when Jennifer Love Hewitt tried to do Audrey Hepburn. Nothing against JLH, who is fine in bubble gum movies and some tv shows, but she does not have the big screen appeal of Hepburn. Ditto LL trying to be a film icon like Elizabeth Taylor.

But of course!

No, not news; just a regular update like the weather;
Santa Monica police continued to investigate an accident that sent actress Lindsay Lohan to the hospital Friday.
Lohan was released after a few hours and did not suffer major injuries, her publicist announced. She will resume work on her Lifetime TV movie in which she portrays Elizabeth Taylor.
Officials said Lohan's Porsche collided with a dump truck Friday morning on Pacific Coast Highway.
"A preliminary investigation revealed that both vehicles were driving northbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the Porsche struck the rear end of the dump truck. Cause of the accident is under investigation," the department said in a statement.
Officials said it was not clear if Lohan was driving the Porsche.
"Investigators are attempting to determine the driver of the black Porsche at the time of the collision," the statement said. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Investigators Chris Dawson or Jason Olson at (310) 458-8954 or the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8495.
The crash occurred during an upswing in Lohan's fortunes after several years of police blotter incidents and a parade of court appearances. Lohan has said she learned her lessons from those experiences.
Lohan received probation for a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence. She was later convicted of shoplifting and was on probation for that offense as well.
Lohan was sent to jail several times for violating the terms of her probation. But she hewed to a strict regimen of community service at the county morgue and counseling. In March, a judge ended her probation in the DUI case and reduced the shoplifting probation to unsupervised status.
Oh? It was just a movie on Lifetime? I still might not watch it; even for free she's not worth the price of admission.
Lindsay Lohan is calling BS on the truck driver’s allegation of bribery ... and everything else he said about the aftermath of their accident is a flat out lie ... sources close to Lohan tell TMZ.
As TMZ previously reported, James -- the guy driving the 18-wheeler Lindsay crashed into on Friday -- told TMZ her people tried to offer him money to keep quiet. He also claimed Lindsay and her people took a mysterious bag out of her Porsche and told James not to mention it to police.
According to our sources, Lindsay says the whole tale is made up -- there was no bribe attempt and no bag removed the car.
We're told Lindsay says the whole story is fabricated and she is (once again) just chalking it up to someone out to make a buck off her.
