Consider the following points made by Our Beloved President (“OBP”) during a speech this past July 5, in Sandusky, Ohio:
"My grandfather fought in Patton's army." OBP's grandfather, Stanley Dunham, was in a supply and maintenance company, and never fought in combat (as confirmed by OBP’s autobio). Dunham’s company was assigned to Patton's army for two months in 1945.
"So when folks said let's go ahead and let the auto industry go bankrupt, we said no let's bet on American workers. Let's bet on American industries, and now, GM is back on top, and Chrysler is moving, and Ford is going strong." Except that GM and Chrysler DID go bankrupt. Ford did not (OBP did nothing for Ford). GM is NOT “back on top,” and still owes us about $30 billion. The Administration did not “bet on American workers”; they bailed out the UAW, quid pro quo. Total lies.
"I want to balance our budget. I want to reduce our deficit, deal with our debt, but I want to do it in a balanced and responsible way." Right. Not only false but laughably so.
"I do want to rebuild our roads and our bridges" because it would "put a lot of people back to work -- and that's good for the entire economy." Demonstrably not true. Been there; done that. Didn’t work.
"When I first got my job as an organizer for the Catholic churches in Chicago ... they taught me that no government program can replace good neighbors and people who care deeply about their communities (and) who are fighting on their behalf." OBP was hired by a Jewish leftist named Jerry Kellman for something called the Developing Communities Project, not the Catholic diocese and certainly not for the "Catholic Churches." It did have some Catholic support, but Obama's own memoir described the community organizing work as a chance to "start to build power" -- with a "hard-headedness" based on "politics, not religion." His statement tries to soften his unconscionable assault on Catholic institutions, while at the same time pretending that he is not a committed statist. Total fucking lies.
"…back in 2008, everybody said we couldn't do it because we were outspent, we weren't favored." OBP outspent John McCain $779 million to $347 million.
"That first race that I ran as a state senator, Michelle and I, we were going around knocking on doors, passing out leaflets. Nobody gave us a shot. Everybody said, 'Nobody can pronounce your name, how are you going to win?'" OBP ran unopposed in 1996, both in the primary and the general election (largely due to typical Chicago-style election maneuvers). If he was knocking on doors, it certainly wasn’t in an effort to get elected. Searching for good arugula?
Truthiness is apparently not a high priority for OBP.
