The question that should be asked is why someone was imprisoned for six and a half years WITHOUT CHARGE, not why he is being released.

And if Jordan is unable to demonstrate that it can make out a case against him without the use of evidence that would be illegal in the UK, then any and all conditions of his release should be lifted forthwith.

I wouldn't care if he were the devil incarnate, either a country is governed by the rule of law or it is not.

A senior judge expressed his astonishment yesterday that a terrorist was thrown out of France is now living in Britain.

The Algerian man was convicted of a bomb attack on an airport but left his home country before he could be sentenced.

He then moved to France where he was jailed for membership of a terrorist group and ordered to be deported.

In 2001 he came to Britain and since then has been fighting to claim asylum in the UK.

Yesterday the case reached the Court of Appeal which ruled against an earlier decision by an Immigration Tribunal sent the case back.

But in reaching his decision, one of the judges questioned how the man was here when he had been kicked out of France.

Lord Ward said: 'It may seem astonishing to many that the French courts were able to seek to exclude this appellant, but that the United Kingdom may be obliged to tolerate his presence in our midst.

'How could that come about?'

The 49-year-old migrant, who is named in the judgment only as AH to protect his identity, faces the death penalty in Algeria over involvement in a bomb plot.

The other day I needed to go to the local NHS hospital but not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my blue jacket and pinned on a plastic ID card that I had made off the Internet onto the front of my jacket .

When I went into the hospital, I noticed that 3/4 of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren't that sick after all. Cut at least 3 hours off my waiting time. Here's the patch. Feel free to use it the next time you're in need of quicker emergency service.

It also works at all supermarkets. It saves me hours. At the Laundry, three minutes after entering, I had my choice of any machine, most still running!

Don't try it at McDonald's though..... The whole staff disappeared and I never got my order, also, never wear it while trying to get a taxi!!

A Sudanese asylum seeker who raped a 12-year-old girl has been allowed to remain in Britain – after a judge ruled it would breach his human rights to deport him.

Sani Adil Ali was jailed for raping the girl just months after he was given refugee status.

When he was sentenced, another judge described him as ‘a potential danger to young girls’ and put him on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the rest of his life.

But after serving a three-year sentence, an immigration tribunal ruled Ali could stay in Britain on the grounds that he could be in danger if he returned to Sudan.

Senior immigration judge Jonathan Perkins allowed the 28-year-old to remain in Britain, even though the rapist’s probation officers found that he presented some risk to young people.

In his ruling, Judge Perkins said: ‘We find that the appellant is still entitled to the protection of the Refugee Convention and the Qualification Directive.

'In any event, removing him would be contrary to the United Kingdom’s obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights.’

It is not the first time that Judge Perkins has made a controversial decision. Last month, The Mail on Sunday reported how he allowed an Afghan Muslim, who claimed he killed people while fighting for the Taliban, to remain in Britain.

It has also been reported that Judge Perkins has often allowed foreign criminals to remain in Britain because of their ‘right to a family life’ under the Human Rights Act.

That's just beyond the pale....3 years for raping a 12 year old.....

Is there any kind of public outrage over this?

Seems like there's some outrage about not deporting him to Sudan, but what about the ridiculous sentence itself?

BTW, what are the procedures for removing a judge from the bench in the UK? In the US, they vary from state to state. In some places judges are elected, and they can be recalled; in others they can be impeached and removed by the state legislature. (Federal judges can be impeached and removed by Congress)

Keeping this guy in the UK would be a fine idea, if he were kept there in prison for life.

That way you'd risk him coming right back in a few months or a few years.

If he came back after a few years, then his claim that his stay in Britain on the grounds that "he could be in danger if he returned to Sudan", would be shown as the bullshit it was. :)

Hate preacher Abu Qatada is to be given a new home at the taxpayers' expense, it emerged today.

The 52-year-old Jordanian that the Government has tried and failed to deport has asked to be rehoused.

The announcement comes just two days after the Special Immigration Appeals Commission upheld his appeal against deportation.

He was released from prison on Tuesday on restrictive bail conditions - which include him being fitted with a GPS satellite tag to provide police and security officials with precise details of his movements.

Home Secretary Theresa May has said the Government will appeal against the decision to let him stay - which caused outrage across Britain.

Now, to add further anger, he and his family will shortly move from their current North London home to a secret address - all at public expense.

In a statement, Edward Fitzgerald QC said: 'The family are going to relocate and therefore Mr Qatada would accept the Home Office-approved accommodation.'

He refused to say whereabouts in the country Qatada will be living but he confirmed that the cleric and his family had asked to be relocated.

The surveillance operations to keep him under constant observation has been costing £5million a year and is set to continue indefinitely. The money pays for a team of 60 Scotland Yard officers, some MI5 officers and a private security firm.

Qatada moved to his current £400,000 address near Wembley, north west London, in February.

He returned there this week after his second period of time in prison. Housing benefit is understood to cover his current rent of £1,900 a month.

The family's desire to be moved follows noisy demonstrations that have been staged outside his house by protestors.

The demonstrators shouted 'Qatada out' and carried banners demanding his deportation when he arrived back on Tuesday.

Neighbours in Wembley were delighted to hear that the preacher is moving away.

One said: 'We are pleased he is leaving the street, although we would be even more happy if he was leaving the country altogether.

'It is outrageous that he and his family are living here at public expense when the rest of us have to go out and work for a living.'

A second neighbour said: 'I am glad that he is going. He is nothing but a burden on neighbours. I will be happy if he goes.'
