I'm not trying to be facetious, with genuine interest, have you had a check up for red/green color blindness?

Funny, but when I linked that Joker image to my post it was much smaller than what I see now when I open my post. It appears that the his hair has a green tinge on what would be considered the older growth but most of his hair is light brown or 'dirty blonde' or whatever, just not green.

But I understand that the Joker's hair is technically green because that's how his character is described and how the story is written.

I was just being a nit picker.

It is indeed a shame about Heath Ledger's death, or they could have explored 'The Joker' further. In the comics and earlier films, his hair color, skin tone and trademark 'grin' were physical changes to his face, due to an accident.
In The Dark Knight, the previous Batman film, the Joker was reintroduced as wearing make-up, and dying his hair, which is implied to be originally sandy blonde. Why his character wore a 'clown costume' isn't exactly explained, but there were hints it was an expression of his psychosis.

As for red hair, the villians of Batman who were gingers were: Poison Ivy

The Police did find Batman related items in his apartment; but nothing explains yet, why he dyed his hair that color.

The guy was able kill over 70 mostly young people before he was stopped; he got the high profile media platform he sought, and now the most he can face for it is 20 years in prison....

That 20 year stretch in a Norwegian prison is walk in the park compared to a Super Max Federal lock-up here in the US.

Is is just me, or is it getting really really really annoying hearing the media refer to this jerk as the "suspect" or the "suspected gunman" or the "alleged gunman"?? Do they really have to pretend that there's any doubt as to the shooter's identity? Sheesh.

It was reported that Holmes bought over 6000 rounds of ammo over the internet. Apparently he bought the firearms locally but in some states you can buy guns on the internet also.
