for anyone who is interested

Post by Miles »

Hello from your local computer challenged idiot. I have received a couple of pm's that in my infinate non-wisdom I have, for some unknown to me reason, not been able to respond to. I have tried my best but with not much success. Therefore for future reference my e-mail address works just fine which is,

oskshe (at) yahoo (dot) com If anyone wishes to contact me that will work.

tried to edit several times to link the e-mail addy but, oh well what can I say. :shrug
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.

Miles, I hope you do not mind, but I've changed your e-mail address above. Putting e-mail addresses on openly accessible pages like that makes them ripe easy pickings for "bots" which harvest them for spammers.

I do not know why you would be unable to reply to PM's, check it out with R-B or Daisy.

As one of the people that BSG feels aggrieved about enough to withdraw her membership over my lack of public support, I must state that there were a number of reasons why I did not.

1. I was unaware of the past history between BSG and Lord Jim that had made her place him on ignore. This was the first time I was conscious of any major on-going issue between either of them. I do not step blindly into such a situation without the knowledge of how we arrived there in the first place. I still haven't bothered researching their past issues.

2. My issues with Lo had gone on for about a year or so. Most of the time I was on my own. Most of the advice was to ignore it. Hell, things have only just started to return to what one can loosely describe as a reasonable posting situation. Call me battle weary.

3. We are fast approaching a local election here. I am busier than the proverbial one legged man in the arse kicking competition.

4. I did not ask BSG to jump in to my situation. I do not believe I have ever requested anyone's intervention.

5. I get very emotional about killing sprees. I hate and despise the scum that commit them. I happened to agree with Lord Jim's thoughts on the matter as I couldn't see a reason for not killing himself? I still can't? Cowardice?

6. When I saw the deterioration in the thread, I didnt bother reading the posts.

I realize BSG's is going through one of life's many challenges, changing employment ... and everything else. Not only that but she has had to care for, and nurse to health, Little (Red) Bear. I should have offered my thoughts and support to her if not here, than in private.

For that, I apologise ... if she is reading.
Bah!

Daisy I very much appreciate your information. My main concern is that for some reason I am not able to respond to any pm that I receive for some reason. It is probably because I am actually computer stupid. I am not overly concerned as I can still communicate through e-mail so if anyone wants to get in touch that is the way to go.

Thanks Strop for looking out for my interests I do appreciate it. :ok

I'm sorry that BSG has moved out for a while. I didn't know her employment was changing again, that's stressful. Why anyone would give a rat's ass what unthinking morons post is beyond me. It's really my fault; I was gone for a week to the Oregon coast and the bile was backing up so the trolls had to drop a few shit-bombs on someone else to relieve themselves.

Sorry BSG!

I have to admit that the same thought occurred to me while that confrontation was going on; it's generous* of you to apologize.

BTW, bsg now seems to be posting occasionally over at Le Chat House, if anyone's interested.

No problem!

For the most part "egocentric" is a description, not a moral condemnation. Except for the confused.

You think BSG decided to start lashing out because rube wasn't here to fill his usual quota of nastiness?

Hmmm...interesting theory, but I tend to doubt there was a connection....

It comes as no surprise that someone as egocentric as retard, can even describe his egocentrism in less than a perjorative way. :ok
Egocentrism is characterized by preoccupation with one's own internal world. Egocentrics regard themselves and their own opinions or interests as being the most important or valid. Self-relevant information is seen to be more important in shaping one’s judgements than do thoughts about others and other-relevant information (Windschitl, Rose, Stalkfleet & Smith, 2008). Egocentric people are unable to fully understand or to cope with other people's opinions and the fact that reality can be different from what they are ready to accept.

Gee, rube didn't understand what the word "egocentric" means.....

Well, it's only 5:20 in the morning and I already have the sure winner of the "least surprising thing I learned all day" prize.....

Maybe someone will jump in with an explanation of how rather than pure ignorance, rube is actually exhibiting great insight..... :D
