On a work day, or night, she is too busy to "go out" very often for much of anything. She is either booked solid in clinic or on Labor and Delivery which is busy 24 hrs a day.

On her off days she more often than not gets together with one or more friends for lunch and lubricates the local wheels of restaurant commerce generously.

She likes lunch, she cares about lunch, and when not working makes an effort to raise the level of the 'lunching' artform for all concerned. We also tip well and so are remembered and get very good considerate and kind service everywhere we go more than once.

We are excessively affluent. We make stink-loads of money. That is why we give a lot of it away. We support a hospital in Gimbe Ethiopia (< $2,000 last year and this year's patents will yield more) , Planned Parenthood ($1,500 last year), the local University of California campus ($1,000 + I lost track I think there was $200 more in there), The local public radio station, the SF ballet, the SF Zen Center (they write the coolest thank-you letters of anyone!), Tassajara, and a few others I'm forgetting.
