Romney just secured 350+ electoral votes...
Re: Romney just secured 350+ electoral votes...
Here are a few things to consider when you decide who you want for President/Vice President;
Ryan is against abortion - period. He would not allow abortion if the pregnancy were caused by rape or incest.
He is against allowing human embryonic stem cell research.
He was for $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending (evil Obama idea).
He voted for the $15B bailout for GM and Chrysler. (another evil Obama idea).
He is for banning gay adoptions.
He is for prohibiting needle exchange & medical marijuana.
He is against protecting free-roaming horses and burros.
He is against physician-assisted suicide.
He wants to build a fence on the U.S. / Mexican border.
He is for terminating funding for National Public Radio.
He is against removing US armed forces from Afghanistan.
If you agree with all of the above, then you should vote for Paul Ryan.

WHEREAS MOST TEABAGGERS ARE REPUGS...
... there isn't much chance that they'll be a force to be reckoned with come November. They are more tantamount to a Hollywood movie's "smoke and noise" factory where, in the end, nothing is being manufactured... just smoke and noise.
If all vote along party lines, and there is not much to indicate otherwise, it appears that Obama will win. No doubt a close election, but a win nonetheless, and as it should be.
So Ryan's Teabaggers just don't add up to any real game changer.

Re: Romney just secured 350+ electoral votes...
Deficits are bad things and I said so when BushCo and the Republican Chorus took a surplus and made it into a deficit mostly by borrowing money and giving it to the rich (hey thanks!) and wasting it on unneeded defense spending when there was no national crisis or other justification for a deficit.
Wasting water is a bad thing and those of us in the Western United States, where we have periodic droughts, are well aware of this.
But when your house is on fire it is stupid to turn off the water needed to put the fire out.
And when you are in a recession/depression (brought on by Republican policies) it is stupid to confuse the issue by not spending when it is needed to get the economy back on track and put the fire out. Stimulative spending stopped the collapse the Republicans had created but needed to be repeated to get things back on track and the Party of NO blocked any effective action. You can see this by comparing the recovery of countries which used all-austerity to those which used a stimulus (I've posted this data before, you look it up this time).

AND ABOUT THOSE "UNDECIDEDS"
You know -- that 8% of the electorate that Lord Jim often alludes to in here.
As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a bunch of maroons."
"Let's talk about those undecideds, shall we, the great persistent time and spending suck of most elections. These folks are the narcissists, the bottomless pools of need, who command all the attention though they really don't deserve it because, given such divisive times, it's hard to believe voters are having trouble making up their minds. Indeed, political scientists and polling experts say the undecided voter is a myth, the New York Times recently reported, and most "independents" vote reliably with one party or the other."

May the best incumbent win.

Aren't republicans supposed to be for freedom of choice, and personal responsibility? Or did I miss something?Any hopes that Mitt Romney had of refocusing attention onto economics today were trashed after a Republican platform committee endorsed a strict anti-abortion stance that provides for no exemptions for rape or incest.
Also earlier today Todd Akin, the Republican congressman and Senate candidate who over the weekend reignited America's abortion debate by telling an interviewer he did not believe “legitimate” rape victims could fall pregnant, announced he would not stand aside despite intense pressure from the Republican establishment.
A 110-member committee endorsed the new platform in the lead-up to next week's Republican convention in Tamp, Florida. “Faithful to the 'self-evident' truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed,” says the document.

All that I have seen supports my contention. But if you have -evidence- as opposed to your usual bullshit to support the idea that they will use something resembling higher thought guided by a knowledge of the facts to arrive at a decision please do present it.

Well retard, I have seen evidence, as has everyone else here, of Jim and Dave being thoughtful, rational, philosophical and considerate. I'm sure they will both vote tactically, and both have show far higher rationalistic ability than your; "Uugh !!Republicans bad! My wife earns Lots!! Here is a Graph!! Ugh" approach to politics.rubato wrote:Evidence?Gob wrote:Oh how little you know, and know about, people. Terrible thing Aspergers.

This will confuse a certain section of RomRy supporters...
'I'm a Democrat, but he's a really nice guy!': Paul Ryan's college sweetheart speaks out for the first time about the relationship that opened his eyes to racism
Deneeta Pope, 40, dated Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan after they met at college
Pope, now an Obama supporter, was thrust into the spotlight by the re-emergence of Ryan's remarks that his 'college sweetheart was black'
Ryan said he suffered 'ugly comments' over the relationship
At Miami University, Pope was a cheerleader and he was in a fraternity
She donated $2,000 to his campaign to become a Congressman in 1997
But she also donated cash to Barack Obama's campaign in 2008
Pope is now a I.T. specialist and realtor in Chicago and recently married her second husband
Ryan married Janna Little in 2000 and they have three children

twy again?
Can we start by pointing out the very large number of my posts which include, as many other posters have recently acknowledged, intelligent and thoughtful articles from The Economist, Paul Krugman, Mark Thoma. And I have posted on many occasions data from the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Congressional Budget Office, the US Census, the USGS, and many other generally respected scientific and technical sources?
While you post ... wheezy crap. What's the matter? No Loca posts to distort and lie about today?

Re: Romney just secured 350+ electoral votes...
Strop, I'm sure you know way more about this than I do, but I've always had a couple of problems with the Aspergers (As opposed to Asshole) theory about rube...(But I freely admit I'm no expert on the subject)Terrible thing Aspergers.
First, aren't people with Aspergers supposed to have a problem with being dishonest? From what I've read the inability to tell even little "white" social lies, or having the filtering mechanism to avoid speaking unnecessary hurtful truths ("Well of course your butt looks fat; anyone can see that") is a large part of what makes them socially dysfunctional...
Rube, by contrast, has absolutely no problem lying his pasty white ass off....he does it all the time...
Second, aren't people with Aspergers also generally supposed to be extremely good with numbers and basic math? Almost to an idiot savant kind of level?
Obviously when it comes to dealing with basic math, rube has demonstrated here repeatedly that he's a lot more "idiot" than "savant".....
