Dead Loca Walking

Post by loCAtek »

...at the SAN JOSE ZOMBIE CRAWL!!!! Image

Image

This August 31st look for a horde of undead to occupy the parking lot next to Gallery AD (across from the California Theater) as we turn South First Street into South FRIGHT Street.

There will be food trucks, horror themed vendors and all sorts of entertainment. Headlining our live music will be South Bay band Picture Atlantic. Opening for them will be LA based Little Red Lung.

Our headline event will be an outdoor screening of Shaun of the Dead courtesy of the SJDA and no Zombie-O-Rama would be complete without the now famous Zombie Fashion Show courtesy of Shot in The Dark productions.

And of course be sure to bring a canned food item for donation to the Second Harvest Food bank as this is, once again, a food drive.

...and it looks something like this, (In the first ten seconds, the zombie with glasses is none other than- Garth the Goth Redneck Jew!!!)
2009;

It just keeps getting better!

I'm thinking of wearing something with bullet holes, tastefully accessorized by exit wound spatter. You have to look your best for the apocalypse...

So how is the event any different from the happenings in day-to-day San Ho?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Who doesn’t crave a little bit of brain, from time to time? Here are five recipes that show you how to cook with cranium contents.

Fried Brains

1 calf’s brain per person

1 cup all purpose flour

2 cloves garlic minced

1/2 bunch italian parsley chopped

1 lemon

1/2 stick salted butter
salt and pepper

Pick the blood vessels and film off of the brains and soak in cold water overnight. Change the water every few hours. When they are properly soaked the water will remain clear.
Blanch in boiling water for two minutes and remove onto a rack to thoroughly drain.

Season with and pepper. Roll through a pan of flour to coat evenly. Melt butter in a skillet on medium high heat. When it is frothy and begins to turn a nut brown color add brains. Sauté until golden brown, constantly basting with butter to evenly brown.

Remove and keep warm. In another skillet melt 3-4 Tablespoons of salted butter and quickly saute parsley and garlic. Remove from heat, squeeze lemon into garlic / parsley mixture, stir, and pour over brains.
