A Lovely Lunch With A Lovely lady...

Post by Lord Jim »

Met up for lunch with Kristina earlier today, here in The City....

It was really nice to spend a little time with an old friend I hadn't seen for a while, ("old" as in, "we've known each a number of years" not "old" as in "getting long in the tooth".... 8-) )

In our little community of curmudgeons and malcontents, she's one of the classiest acts here, and has been on three boards across a number of years...

Not the least bit curmudgeonly or malcontented.... 8-)

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Sounds good.

Dales & I would like to meet you at Fisherman's Wharf at a small restaurant called Gary Danko next week.

We would like to have a couple oysters to whet our appetites and prepare us for whatever we may decide to consume that evening.

I know Dales doesn't drink alcohol, but I'd be more than happy to drink what he's not having.... :D

Sounds great Joe...

But with perhaps a slight change of venue:

I'll go with the dungeness crab for a starter, and the grilled rib eye for an entree....

And Beefeater martinis up, keep 'em coming....

I bow to your superior knowledge of low life US dives. ;)

But the menu looked lovely, and very reasonably priced.

As long as you're paying, I'm not going to argue.

I've never had dinner there.

As a matter of fact, I've never even heard of the restaurant until now.

Hey, Redwood City is your town....

Are you saying you wouldn't extend to me the same courtesy and hospitality I would extend to visitors in my town? (ie, pick up the check...)

Well, you certainly wouldn't make a very good Muslim.....

In the Muslim Faith, it's considered very bad manners not to pick up the check offer food and drink to a traveler in your village... 8-)

Jim, might I suggest "Harry's Hof Brau" in RWC?

Neil Young eats there, I've heard, we might get lucky and hit him up for an autograph or three.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Well, I hope Neil Young will remember...

A southern man don't need him around; anyhow...

And my favorite Neil Young bit:

I don't know why Neil would want to eat at Harry's Hofbrau. Maybe they have a senior discount?

However, being a long time Redwood City Resident & Neil being from a neighboring town of mine, I have seen Neil a few times.

(when I've paid to go to his concerts in other cities)

Sure, I'd pick up the check...

and hand it to you.

If we ate here, we'd be in the San Francisco Bay Area :D
