But they could have serious consequences as more than one million copies have been mailed to voters in Ohio, a key swing state where Mitt Romney is lagging in the polls.
Some 100,000 copies have also been sent to voters in Nevada and the same number to New Hampshire - with up to three million more still to come.
It has even won the support of Alabama's Republican Party chairman Bill Armistead who has said: 'That (the film) is absolutely frightening. I've seen it. I verified that it is factual, all of it. People can determine.'

I'm sorry lib, but there are no "two sides" to something like this; nor can it be passed off as just the normal rough and tumble of politics. Politics may not be bean bag, but it should not be a cesspool either. There are some things that are just beyond any level of acceptability, and this is one of them. The fact that similar things have been done to others, (Even back in the 50's there was rumor campaign started that Eisenhower's mother was black) doesn't make this acceptable.Come on people see both sides, be objective.

That is, of couse, patently ridiculous. Impeachment governs only the process by which the POTUS can be removed from office, and does not provide any sort of shield from criminal liability. If it did, there would have been no reason for Gerald Ford to have pardoned Richard Nixon for any crimes he may have committed during his time in office. And as for civil liability:
A president who shoots someone in the head on national TV is not acting in performance of his office, and thus has neither criminal nor civil immunity for such an act.The Supreme Court has ruled that the president has absolute Immunity from civil lawsuits seeking damages for presidential actions. However, the Court ruled in Clinton v. Jones, 520 U.S. 681, 117 S.Ct. 1636, 137 L.Ed.2d 945 (1997), that a sitting president does not have presidential immunity from suit over conduct unrelated to his official duties...The Court stated that it had never suggested that the president or any other public official has an immunity that "extends beyond the scope of any action taken in an official capacity." The trial of a sitting President may be Constitutionally problematic...
This is why Leon Jaworski named Nixon as an "Un-indicted Co-conspirator" rather than indicting him along with Haldeman, Erlichman, Mitchell, etc.
Of course if a President in this situation were not removed or forced to resign, (hard to imagine in this particular hypothetical) he could always be tried after his term ended.
