Pink

Post by Rick »

I have been unable to find a pink shirt anywhere that is suitable for work (can't wear short sleeve crew neck shirts that don't at least have a pocket).

But smile girls, I found a pink tie... :D

Are you having a pink period, celebrating breast cancer, or is this uniform related?

Casual Pink Day Thursday?

October seems to be the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

They Girls get out and do a bunch of Susan G Komen stuff.

The guys are supposed to watch them do all the Susan G Komen stuff.

Pink seems to be the color, I found a pink tie.

I thought I might have done something, maybe it ain't as big as I first thought.

But hey I still got the tie...

Cool.

I love dressing for causes.

Next year on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, I am thinking of turning up to work with a peg leg as well as the parrot on my shoulder.

Barber: Sir, was that a pink tie you were wearing?

Customer: No.

Barber: Then here's your lower lip.

That's silly. How could you balance a peg leg and a parrot on one shoulder?

One of my (male) partners regularly wears a lovely pink button-down that I think looks great on him. A pink tie works too. Cheers, Keld -- as the family and friend of breast cancer survivors, and too many who didn't survive, I thank you!

We support women's health via Planned Parenthood and in other ways but will never support Komen.

While I do support breast cancer causes (my wife had a breast tumor which thankfully turned out to be benign) I can't stand all the American football players wearing pink kleats, armbands, towels hats, etc. It wasn't so pronounced last year before I had my HDTV, but now it is very....loud....

And what about a prostate cancer month. Chances are 1 out of 6 football players will be diagnosed with that form of cancer. (and yes, I did have a prostate cancer scare, but thankfully it too was benign)

My cousin was just diagnosed with bladder cancer. His prognosis is not good. Something about a "plastic bladder" that might give him 10 more years. Not good.

My other cousin died of pancreatic cancer. Seems anyone who gets that cancer has less then a year to live.

I'm not saying don't support the cancers/causes one chooses to, just that there are other forms of cancer that receive less exposure, and thus funding, out there too.

Oh get over it.

People like breasts more than they like prostates and who wouldn't?

While it is true that prostate cancer kills about 3/4 the number of people and gets 1/2 of the funding, so what?

We've always been the tougher sex and we can take it.
