Bendigo school kids have fun

I can't see why they're making a fuss...
A Bendigo nightclub's muck-up day promotion is causing controversy.

Universal on McCrae is advertising jelly wrestling between Catholic College Bendigo and Bendigo Senior College girls.

A father of an 18-year-old student phoned the Bendigo Advertiser this morning and labelled the promotion as "absolutely disgusting".

"It's misogynist, sexist and close to what a strip club do," he said.

The jelly wrestling competition is part of a muck-up day evening called War of the Worlds for students aged 18 and over. The event will be hosted by Home & Away's Dan Ewing.

A beer pong competition between CCB and BSSC is also being advertised for boys.

Year 12 students across the Bendigo region will celebrate their final day of school tomorrow before exams begin in November.

Both schools today slammed the Universal for attempting to "cash-in" on muck-up day.

Bendigo Senior Secondary College principal Dale Pearce said the controversial jelly wrestling was being promoted without the consent of either school.

Police have been notified because of potential liquor licensing breaches.

The Bendigo Advertiser is seeking comment from Universal and the Catholic College.

Back in the 60s we used to get beer pong on chuck up days - not muck up
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

My kids (27 and 23 yo) thought they invented beer pong. I tried to tell them we played that game (although with different rules) back in the late 70's early 80's. I even had to find my old "pong" ball I called the "Bumble Bee" to show them (black and yellow stripes on it). It's a little heavier than a ping pong ball they use now-a-days and flies truer than a ping pong ball. Before I stopped drinking I used to rule at their parties.
