How the media won it for Obama...
Re: How the media won it for Obama...
And yet one more happy thing about this election:
The Republican attempts at vote-suppression -- especially in Florida and Ohio -- not merely failed but backfired. People whose votes the Republicans tried to suppress were infuriated, so they stood in line for two, four, six, even seven hours to cast their ballots.
Tons of money did not work. Vote-suppression attempts did not work.
Guess what, Republicans: That means that you will have to wage the political battle on the merits. And that means that you will lose.

Reason is valuable only when it performs against the wordless physical background of the universe.

Yes, your party might actually have to debate on issues instead of spreading money and misinformation.

While one can fault Romney for no "specifics" of his fiscal plan, I heard the same lack of details from Obama. I fear for the next four years especially if it is the same as the last four years.Grim Reaper wrote:Yes, your party might actually have to debate on issues instead of spreading money and misinformation.
More unemployment, more on welfare, more on foodstamps, fewer jobs created than lost (net), more federal debt.
I am not placing blame on Obama as I would actually like to see this country succeed. But if shit is the same, I am buying another shotgun.

You'd better stock up on plenty of ammo too if you plan to fight iff all your neighbors and other comers (an no mattter how much you get, they will outlast you). If it gets that bad, I'll opt for a painless poison.

How's this for specifics: "Forward!"
Gimme a fucking break.

Andrew is exactly right, the demographics of this country have changed for good, and the time of the married, religious, prosperous white male is, finally, at a close. Why else would Dave be so panicked.
BTW, both that Fox article in the OP (which was mostly false bs) and Dave's view of the world can be summed up and examples of epistemic closure. Unfortunately for the Republicans, both Karl Rove and Mittens have the same disease - the reports out yesterday cite a senior Romney official that neither Ryan, Romney, or Rove had any notion Obama was going to get reelected and they expected to win. Romney's statement that he had only written an acceptance speech wasn't bravado, it was truth. And the delay in the concession speech was because he didn't believe the results (and his wife had fallen apart on hearing the news). Had they bothered to peek their heads outside of their narrow little world they might have been at least prepared for the prospect, but none did.
Epistemic closure explains beautifully the Republican tone-deafness, and is absolutely underscored by the demographic statistics Andrew cited.

This is all typical liberal media bias.... demographics, demographics
What's wrong with repubographics huh? How come we never hear about them, huh? Huh?

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Put another way, Romney is the Edsel of American Politics.

Given the family relatioonship with American Motors he would be a Pacer or a Gremlin.
