I would imagine it is quite flattering having an attractive woman hanging off every word of your recalled tales

When rumors first started to circulate a few days ago that Petraus might resign, it looked like they were going to throw him under the bus for Benghazi....("Here's an idea...let's blame the one professional guy so we can save the asses of our political hacks...it's the Chicago Way...")

But it turned out that it was just the classic story of a middle aged man getting caught with his hand in the nookie jar....

Rubato was quite right. A Spook cannot allow himself to be placed in a position where he can be compromised.

If The General were still in the Army, this would have been a court-martial offense.

Thank God we still have a few people in positions of authority who have the integrity to do the honorable thing. Contrast this with the behavior of President Clinton under similar circumstances - both of the Clintons, for that matter. The difference is stark. Integrity vs. the total lack of same.

Mrs Kelley's identical twin Natalie Khawam - who obtained testimonies to her good character from Mr Petraeus and General John Allen during a messy custody dispute after her divorce - declared herself bankrupt this year with liabilities of $US3.6 million, filings show.

Ms Khawam was described by a judge in the custody case as dishonest and lacking integrity, The Associated Press reported, citing court documents.

... were born in Lebanon. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the military and DHS are investigating the entire Khawam clan for possible ties with Hezbollah. Regardless, two big time military generals stripped of their power for taking marching orders from their "little generals." You gotta' love it.
