I missed this one...

He's a talented bloke is Davy and the go-to guy when it comes to the uilleann pipes...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

It's such an emotive sound, truly "Celtic."

I have, inevitably, all his CD's. Saw him live at Cambridge once, I had tears in my eyes his playing was that plaintive.

He played with Finbarr Furey at the funeral of a friend of mine some years ago... Fuck me but there's nothing more heart rending than The Green Fields of France played well on the pipes!

Do you know the story of Cu Chulainn Strop? If not, it's worth having a read of it and then listening to that piece (Cu Chulainn's Lament) again...

Beautiful. I'd never heard of the uillean pipes before, but have definitely heard their sound.

Mostly I've heard the large Scottish highland pipes -- my law school has a piper lead us in and out at Commencement, and every other significant ceremonial occasion that requires a procession. And I've been to several funerals where, after the graveside ceremony concludes and as people are dispersing, a piper appears and plays Amazing Grace.

Clears the grounds quickly so the backhoe can get in.....
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
