Strop, If You Visit The US, I Know You'll WantTo See This...

Post by Lord Jim »

In fact, I'm sure it's probably first on your list...

SMU is home to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which includes the presidential archives of the Bush Administration, a museum with permanent and traveling exhibits and an independent public policy institute.

The University is preparing to celebrate the opening of the Bush Presidential Center and welcome the worldwide visitors who will attend dedication events on campus April 24-26. [Obama and all the former Presidents are attending]

The Bush Presidential Library and Museum opens to the public May 1.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Jim, as for the OP, I'll give it a miss. I've read read "The Hungry Caterpillar" to the Hatch when she was a kid.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

You should have read the American (original) version: The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Crazy stuff, I'll tell you. ;)

That caterpillar is the cause of obesity in American children...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Actually Sean, that story is a cautionary tale against over eating....

But perhaps the writing was too subtle and complex for you to grasp the message... :P

That caterpillar looks like something Louis Wain painted while suffering from schizophrenia.

It was a very nice opening ceremony...(Even Carter managed to be gracious.)

Condi Rice made the introductions and acknowledgements of all the dignitaries present, including a number of foreign former and present leaders with very difficult names; which she pronounced effortlessly and flawlessly...

(I couldn't help but think how amusing that portion of the program would have been if George had taken on that task....)

I was just assuming that American kids only got as far as reading the title before reaching for a bucket of fried chicken... ;)

Lest we forget:

Yeah, THAT guy actually ran this country for EIGHT ENTIRE YEARS! :shrug

P.S. All that publicity about the opening of the library and they never even showed us the book....

Anyone who wants to visit the GWB library had better hurry. Apparently there are only three books there and two of them are already coloured in...

"I remember meeting a mother of a child who was abducted by the North Koreans right here in the Oval Office."
I understand that White House security has been beefed up somewhat since then....

Bush himself had a pretty good line at the opening ceremony:

"There was a time when I couldn't be found in a library, much less founding one..."

IIRC, Bush once once introduced William F. Buckley Jr., saying, "While he was at Yale, he wrote a book. While I was at Yale, I read one."
