Lots of us didn't have that attitude in the aftermath of 9/11. Painting everyone with the same brush, in order to justify what was done after 9/11, is just post-hoc rationalization, and its just plain untrue.
I did not paint "everyone" and I have changed my post to say "some people" you know those surviving FDNY, NYPD, Transit Police, the people who had relatives and friends in the WTC. And just for the record, I am sure that some of the survivors do not have the same views that I do but on the other hand, I do know a lot who do share my views.
And to reiterate what I also said in my first post and will not edit
I did not lose any sleep over anything the CIA did to these people. And would not if it was still going on. They can put my name on it and say they did it for me.
as in "ME, oldr_n_wsr, nobody else but ME". I did not name Guin nor rubato, nor wesw nor LJ no GenMeade, just ME.
That just made it worse, oldr

Now you're excluding yourself from forgetting but accusing Guin (and others including me) of forgetting our attitudes
Did you get angry
or did you report
on the day they wounded New York?
Sorry to all that I accused of "forgetting their attitudes" of the aftermath of 9/11. And take this time to say that those posting here may have attitudes that do not allign with my attitudes of the scum that did this to the USA.
And no, I did not report (to the military I presume, heck, I was 40-something at the time) , but I did personally give my Bush tax rebate of that year ($1200) to an FDNY widow who's husband she will forever not wake up next to and who's children are fatherless. He happened to be in the FArmingville FD that I was also a member of.
I also got the HONOR of stnding honor guard at the furnerals for 3 of the FDNY firefighters who persished that day (the FDNY firefighters were a little busy) who were also volly's here on Long island and we had their funerals at the various departments around hte island. It was at one of those funerals that I had the "pleasure" of hearing the young son (2 or 3yo at the time) asking his mom, "when is daddy coming home?". Try standing at attention, in your dress blues, at the head of a casket that probably contains only pieces of a firefighter, hear that and try and keep your composure. I had tears running down my face for the rest of my shift.
0.00095 % casualties is tiny.
Compared to what? All the people in the USA? Sure, 3000 compared to 350,000,000 is small. What are you comparing the 3000 too?
I do not view the 3000 lost lives as tiny. I think you should attend the WTC memorial next September 11 when they read off all the names of those who perished that day. Maybe it will help you perspective.
I know my attitude is not in keeping with my attempt at spirituality. It is one of my character defects, but I will not apologize for it and will probably keep and have to live with it.
I do apologize to those who think I am speaking for them as that was not my intention.
