Hang in there. Your experience highlights why it is a good idea to follow the periodic protocol on this unfriendly procedure.

Got my results and all were benign. He said I could wait a year but I figured lets get them gone asap. So I'm going back in August to have some more removed. He thinks he can get the rest in that procedure.

Anyway, last week was trying. After the good news I eneded up with some kind of stomach virus tuesday/wednesday. Went to my PCP on wednesday night for my regular 3 month checkup and the doc said the virus was going around and he had to send two people to the ER as they got severely dehydrated. I felt better on thursday then relapsed on friday (with the virus not a relapse in drinking). Missed my groups anniversary friday night.

On saturday I woke up and fely like I was reborn. Plenty of energy and get up and go. I thanked my higher power and had a really great day. Fixed the tractor and it seems to be running better than ever. At 19 yo it needed a little TLC. Sunday again I felt really good and did all the remaining leaf picking up and cut the grass also.

Gave thanks again to my higher power for the feeling and energy and joy I have been feeling lately. Even today, I said my usual morning prayers and was thankful for waking up with energy. Feeling really positive, upbeat and blessed lately. As my sponsor says, "enjoy it when you feel it, as noting lasts forever".

Hope everyone has a good week. :ok

Indeed it is... power, oldr!
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

There is no circumstance in life that alcohol couldn't make worse.

Been doing really well lately. No depression, no anxiety, no desire to drink alcohol. Been getting along really great with my wife. Normally I would be waiting for hte shoe to drop, but I am enjoying what is happening right now rather than fretting over what might happen.

Guilt from the past and anxiety about the future takes away today peace.

:ok

A buddy of mine is back drinking. He does this every 6 month or so. I thought he was geting over the cycle as he has a girlfriend and a new house. But nooooooo. I've been calling to check up on him but he doesn't answer his phone and does not call me back.
Don't know what he needs other than to work the program. I thought he was, but apparently not.

Same buddie is still drinking with a day here and there of not drinking. while drinking he took his scooter for a ride and got into an accident. Ended up in hte hospital. Only bumps, bruises and scrapes but we'll see about the riding of a scooter without a license. Don't know if they DWI'd him. If so it's his third and a felony.

Anyway, I had a dream I was drinking. Told my wife about it and she got a little upset. I tried to calm her down by telling her that most alcoholics have drinking dreams from time to time (this was not my first, but I never told her about any others). Doesn't mean we are going to drink because of it or that it was even on my mind when I was falling asleep. thoughts of drinking pop into the mind from time to time, but no compulsion to drink and the thought that did pop in pops right out anyway.

All is going great lately. Will have a year on July31/August 1. Can't figure out which. Suicide attampt was July 30. 31 was first day without alcohol but I was on some kind of mind altering thing they gave me in the hospital. Besides, if I say july 31 then in coming years I will (hopefully, God willing) celebrate at my home group on the last friday of the month which will be before my actual sober date (this year the last friday is on the 31st, next year it will be on the 30th and so on...). So I'll celebrate on the last friday of august which will mean I have completed that year before the recognition day.

Awesome work. I can't imagine the dream carries any significance beyond the normal odd/crazy stuff that rattles around our brains.

yeah, I still have dreams about smoking crack sometimes, but I only remember really bad dreams that wake me up, so that is good, that my dreams of bad things are pretty much nightmares I mean.

I really wanted to except a cold beer from my neighbor on the 4th of july, which I m sure would have been fine, but I just don t want to risk getting that cocaine urge, even tho I haven t had it for a few years, I still worry about it too much to enjoy a beer.

Don't risk it. Heard too many stories about addicts having a drink or alcoholics having a puff of weed. Nothing good happens after that.

I feel a little "off" today. Can't put my finger on it. It's a great day weather wise. Work is going good. Guess it's just the "blahs" normal people get. But With us addicts, we need to keep an eye on ourselves and our thoughts/feelings lest it evolve into something bad.
Going to have smoke and read todays Daily Bread passage.
Maybe that will take away the blahs.
